Roblox Grow a Garden Guide: How To Get Venus Fly Trap

You can get a Venus Fly Trap as a random Basic and Premium Seed Box drop from Jim, the NPC plant in Grow a Garden Roblox.

The April 2025 content update for Grow a Garden is now live with tons of new features. One of the latest additions to the game is Jim, a new, friendly plant themed around a Venus flytrap. Jim asks you to feed him and gives rewards in return. One of those rewards is a new Venus Fly Trap for your garden. This guide will help you acquire the new plant efficiently.

The odds of getting a Venus Fly Trap from one of Jim’s seed packs are very low. Be prepared to spend a significant amount of resources before receiving a single drop.

How To Get a Venus Fly Trap in Grow a Garden

To get a Venus Fly Trap in Grow a Garden, talk to Jim in your garden. He is a special NPC (non-playable character) who was added to the game during the 2025 Easter event. When you visit him, he will ask you to provide the following items:

Each time you feed Jim one of the fruits, flowers, or vegetables listed above, he gives you a Basic Seed Pack. After completing all 50 steps, you receive a Premium Seed Pack. You can open the packs and get Venus Fly Trap seeds. Here are the drop rates:

• 0.01% chance of a Venus Fly Trap seed from a Basic Seed Box
• 1% chance of a Venus Fly Trap seed from a Premium Seed Box

Jim also has a special Premium Seed Chest next to him. You can use Robux to try and get the rare seed instantly if you prefer spending money over farming the required items. It costs 1,699 Robux for 10 seed packs. You can also buy single packs for 199 Robux each.
