Grow a Garden Tanchozuru is a legendary-tier pet introduced in the Zen Event. Let’s find out how to get it.

Roblox Grow a Garden Zen Event Update is now live, and brings a host of new gameplay content. This includes new Japanese-themed pets, plants, and other items.
This article, in particular, will focus on the new Tanchozuru pet. It is a legendary-tier pet that can be obtained via the Zen Egg. Let’s find out more about it and what it does.
What is the Grow a Garden Tanchozuru Pet?
The Tanchozuru is a legendary pet in Grow a Garden, introduced during the Zen Update on July 19, 2025. It is inspired by the Japanese red-crowned crane. It has a stylized, blocky design with a white body, long gray legs, a slim gray neck, and a head with red hair.
How to Get the Tanchozuru
The Tanchozuru can only be obtained from a Zen Egg, which has a 4.6% chance of becoming this pet. If you’re wondering how to get a Zen Egg, follow these steps:
Buy from the Zen Shop:
- Go to the Zen Shop on the Zen event platform in the middle of the map.
- When prompted by the Tanuki NPC, press “E” and select ‘Show me the Zen Shop’.
- You can buy a Zen Egg for 30 Chi. Chi is earned by trading Tranquil-mutant plants to the Tanuki NPC or for 149 Robux.
Level Up the Zen Channeller’s Tree:
- The Zen Channeller’s tree is on the Zen event platform.
- If you want the Zen Egg from leveling up the tree you must give Tranquil plants called Unk.
- Each level-up has a high percentage chance of a Zen Egg.
Hatching
- Plant the Zen Egg down in an empty spot of your garden.
- Wait for 4 hours and 10 minutes for it to hatch, which has a 4.6% chance of hatching the Tanchozuru.
What Does the Tanchozuru Do?
The Tanchozuru has a unique ability called Balance and Harmony. This allows it to periodically meditate (every ~10 minutes for ~10 seconds), during which nearby fruits within a 15-stud radius have a ~5% chance per second to gain the Tranquil mutation. This mutation increases the sale value of crops by 20x.
