Building and simulation games have quickly become a popular theme on Roblox. One of the new additions in this category is Build a Base. Developed by Build The Base, the game was first released in May 2025. Since then, it has garnered over 3.4 million visits and currently boasts an active player base of over 2,000. Roblox Build a Base Guide

First, launch the game. To do so, search for “Build a Base” in the game library. Click “Play” to join a server.

Understand the Objective

The main goal is to create a base by purchasing and placing buildings, upgrading them, and sometimes defending against enemies or other players. You may need to earn resources to expand your base and unlock better structures or troops.

Gameplay

At first, your task is to complete basic objectives, such as training troops. You can use these troops to attack your friends’ bases and collect coins. Use the coins to purchase base-building objects like mines.

Use your coins to purchase buildings and defensive structures such as archer towers, army camps, barracks, shackle storage, and more. Each item has a different coin cost.

How To Attack Other Bases

To attack other bases, approach the base of the player you want to target. At the front of their base, you’ll see an attack option. Press E to activate combat mode. Your troops will appear at the bottom of your screen. Simply drag and drop them strategically to infiltrate your friend’s base.

How To Defend Your Base

While looting other bases is profitable and enjoyable, it’s equally important to defend your own base, as other players may raid you and steal your coins. To protect your base, strategically place defensive outposts such as archer towers and cannons. These structures will attack incoming enemy forces, but they can be destroyed, so plan their placement carefully.

Controls

Here are the controls in the game (PC):

Movement: WASD (move), Spacebar (jump), Mouse (look/aim).
Interaction: E (interact/activate actions, e.g., attack mode at enemy base).
Shop Access: Click the Shop button or press the keybind (e.g., F2) to open the shop for buildings.
Building: Select a building from the shop, then click and drag to place it on the 4×4 grid.
Attacking: Approach an enemy base, press E to enter combat mode, then drag and drop troops from the bottom of the screen to attack strategically.
