Fishing in Rune Slayer isn’t just a side activity; it’s a fun, rewarding break from all the action. While battles rage on, some players prefer the calm of casting a line. It’s a simple skill but offers surprising rewards. You can catch fish for cooking or sell rare species for extra silver. Even better, you don’t need to be a high-level warrior to start fishing.

All you need is a Fishing Rod and some bait. A friendly NPC named Simon has you covered. He’s easy to find in Wayshire, right across from the Inn. With a few copper coins, you’ll be ready to fish in no time. But don’t expect to catch treasure every time!

How To Get a Fishing Rod in Rune Slayer

To start fishing in Rune Slayer, you need a Fishing Rod. You can buy one from Simon, the fishing NPC in Wayshire. He stands across from the Inn, making him easy to find. Simon sells a Wooden Fishing Rod for 1 Silver and 25 Copper.

You’ll also need bait to catch fish. Simon sells Worms for 15 Copper each, which is an affordable option for beginners. If you want to save money, you can farm Mandrake Root from Mandrakes instead. However, they don’t drop bait often, so buying from Simon is usually faster.

Once you have your rod and bait, head to any body of water. The fishing spot near Simon is a good place to start.

How To Fish in Rune Slayer

Fishing in Rune Slayer is simple but requires patience. First, equip your Fishing Rod and make sure you have bait in your inventory. Then, stand near the water and left-click to cast your line.

Next, watch the bobber closely. When it twitches, immediately left-click again to hook your catch. If you react quickly, you’ll reel in a fish. If you’re too slow, you might catch nothing.

Fishing doesn’t always guarantee a valuable catch. Sometimes, you’ll pull up seaweed or an old cup instead of fish. However, with persistence, you can hook rare species worth a good amount of silver.

If you’re looking to make money, Storm Clapper and Dolphin are the best catches. Jellyfish are also valuable, but they’re harder to find.
