Schedule 1 is the latest crime simulator game, featuring various illegal activities, from manufacturing and distributing drugs to pickpocketing NPCs. Pickpocketing is one of the core features of Schedule 1 that allows you to acquire extra money while also obtaining unique and rare items.

This feature is especially beneficial in the early game when money is scarce. However, since it’s an illegal activity, there is always a risk of getting caught by the police, who will confiscate your items. This Schedule 1 pickpocket guide explains how the mechanism works and how to do it efficiently.

How To Pickpocket in Schedule 1

Pickpocketing in Schedule 1 is not as easy as it sounds. It requires careful planning along with some practice. Here is how to pickpocket an NPC:

  • Approach an NPC by crouching (pressing the CTRL key).
  • Once you get behind them, you can see the Pickpocket option.
  • Press E to initiate pickpocketing.
  • This pauses the in-game world and puts you in a mini-game.

Pickpocket Mini-Game

An arrow moves back and forth across several green bars. Each green bar corresponds to an item that you can steal. You need to place the arrow on a green bar by timing it correctly. If you manage to hit the mark, you steal the specific item and put it in your inventory slot. Make sure you have a free slot before attempting to pickpocket. The speed of the arrow increases the longer you take. Stopping the arrow somewhere outside the green bars results in a failed attempt.

What Happens if You Fail in Pickpocketing in Schedule 1?

Failing the pickpocket mini-game alerts the NPC. Some NPCs call the police and report the crime, while others can fight back against you with fists or melee weapons. You will know if the NPC is calling the police by looking at the phone icon above their heads. If the crime is reported, the police will arrive at the location shortly and start an investigation. Get to the hideout immediately to avoid the police investigation. You can also hide inside the large trash cans found across the map. It’s always better to locate one before you attempt to pickpocket. Stay hidden until the investigation sign on your screen disappears.

Although pickpocketing is rewarding, it is also risky. However, practicing makes you a master pickpocket. Pickpocketing an item from a customer after selling it to them unlocks the Indian Dealer achievement trophy.
