Harleep is an incubus that you meet while looking for Raphael’s safe key during the House of Hope quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. The incubus catches you in the act and offers information in return for romance. You can either indulge his fantasy or refuse him; the two encounters play out very differently.

In this guide, we shall go over your choices and their consequences. We recommend that players fight Harleep to get the key and the information. Beating him also grants valuable XP.

Who is Harleep?

Harleep is found in the House of Hope during the quest to find the Orphic Hammer. He is an incubus disguised as Raphael who catches you sneaking around. While lying on Raphael’s bed in his personal chambers, he presents you with the choice to indulge in his fantasies in exchange for information. He can see past any deception, so you should be honest.

What Happens If You Indulge Harleep?

Harleep will ask you to undress and engage in his fiendish fantasies. Should you indulge him, he will give you information on the Oprhic Hammer.

During the act, Harleep will demand you to surrender both your body and mind in a multitude of stages. You can resist or surrender in the first stage with a DC 18 Wisdom check or DC 18 Performance check. If you resist, the incubus gets annoyed and fights the player.

In the second stage, you can surrender your body, but not your mind. If you refuse, a fight with Harleep will ensue. You can also give away your mind and your soul, which will end the game if you use your main character for this act.

If you indulge in Harleep’s fantasies uninterrupted, the incubus will acquire the player character’s form. He will then reveal the safe’s location, which is hidden behind the right-hand painting of Raphael. He will also hand over the key to Raphael’s safe.

What Happens If You Refuse Harleep?

If you refuse to indulge in the incubus’ fantasies, the encounter goes down a violent route. You will have to kill Harleep and loot his body to acquire the key to Raphael’s safe. However, to get the information on the safe’s location, you must use the Speak with Dead necromancy spell and talk to Harleep.
