Palworld offers three distinct Sphere Launchers to choose from, but should you be using these expensive devices?
Palworld drops you into a gorgeous and vibrant world with one goal: Capture as many Pals as you can. Pals, much like Pokemon, come in different elemental types and have their own sets of strengths, weaknesses, and specializations. Capturing a Pal comes with varying levels of difficulty, with some Pals living in harsh weather zones, while others put up defenses and refuse to go down without a fight.
Once the capture attempt swings your way, however, you can use Pal Spheres (Palworld’s version of Pokeballs) to capture the Pals. Later on, you also unlock the Sphere Launchers, which, as their name suggests, throw Pal Spheres to capture the Pals. The launchers, however, require Technology Points and resources to craft. Since they do not come free, should you use the Sphere Launchers in Palworld? Well, it depends on the launcher.
There are three types of Sphere Launchers in Palworld, and all three come with different properties that make them stand out. These three Sphere Launchers are the Single-Shot Sphere Launcher, the Scatter Shot Sphere Launcher, and the Homing Sphere Launcher. Below, we shall discuss these launchers individually and determine if you should be using them.
Are the Sphere Launchers Worth It?
Single-Shot Sphere Launcher
The first of the Sphere Launchers, the Single Shot Sphere Launcher, is unlocked at Level 29 through the Technology Menu for 4 Ancient Technology Points. You can then craft this item using 50x Ingots, 100x Stones, 50x Paldium Fragment, and 5x Ancient Civilization Parts. At the cost that this launcher demands, it offers no advantage of sorts. The range is not up to the mark, and you’re better off using manual throws to capture your Pals.
Scatter Sphere Launcher
The next one you unlock is the Scatter Sphere Launcher at Level 38. This launcher is unlocked through the Technology Menu for 5 Ancient Technology Points. You craft this item using 50x Refined Ingot, 15x Polymer, 50x Paldium Fragment, 30x Carbon Fiber, and 10x Ancient Civilization Parts. For the hefty cost, the Scatter Sphere Launcher, too, is not worth it. This launcher throws multiple Spheres in a single shot, but with no tracking, these Spheres are simply wasted.
Homing Sphere Launcher
The final Sphere Launcher is the Homing Sphere Launcher, unlocked at Level 50. You unlock this launcher from the Technology Menu for 5 Ancient Technology Points. You can craft this launcher using 100x Pal Metal Ingot, 50x Polymer, 200x Paldium Fragment, 50x Carbon Fiber, and 20x Ancient Civilization Parts.
The Spheres launched by this launcher come with tracking capabilities, homing in on the target for the capture. This is by far the best of the launchers and is the only one worth getting if you have the points to spend.
