Mastering the skill tree in All Star Tower Defense X is the fastest way to turn a solid lineup into a wave-crushing squad. Once you reach level 18 and secure a five-star or Unbound unit, every node you unlock can sharpen damage, speed up attacks, or extend range to cover more ground.

How Does the Skill Tree Work in All Star Tower Defense X?

Skill trees are made up of nodes organized into three main branches. You must use Skill Orbs to unlock nodes, but not just any orb will do. Orbs are color-specific, and they must match your unit’s color. If you don’t have the right one, use a Pure Skill Orb and convert it.

Start by selecting your preferred upgrade path. Click the starting node of that branch and press Confirm to spend the required orbs. Continue down the path to unlock stat boosts and special abilities.

At the end of each upgrade branch, you’ll find a special node. This unlocks a passive ability like +10% Critical Chance or +10% Element Boost, depending on the path. Once unlocked, the passive ability moves to the special cells mentioned earlier. You can freely swap these in and out as needed.

You can earn Skill Orbs by completing battles in the Challenges Area, which unlocks at level 20. These challenges rotate every 30 minutes and are the most reliable source for orbs. Focus on:
