Embark on a whimsical adventure through Mio’s candyland in Split Fiction’s Birthday Cake side mission. But beware—the cake hides surprises.
The Birthday Cake mission in Split Fiction is the final side story in the game. Found within Chapter 5, the sweet and enchanting world of Mio’s first story harbors a dark twist. In this level, you celebrate Mio’s fifth birthday by making your way across a delectable Candyland and lighting five candles at the summit of a mountainous birthday cake.
Finding the Birthday Cake Side Story
The Birthday Cake mission can be found near the end of Chapter 5 (Rise of the Dragon Realm), after the Dragon Soul puzzle. Once you have completed the puzzle by breaking four metal eggs and returning the dragon souls, you will see a platform to the left of the main path. The floating gummy bear—which you bounce on to reach the portal—is another hint about what lies ahead.
Birthday Cake Mission Guide
Start by admiring your adorable toothy selves. Then, platform across the spinning waffles and jump-attack the green candy ground when you arrive at a dead end with gummy bears. Hop over the rotating chocolate sticks and jump-attack the yellow jelly to launch yourself across long distances.
While climbing up the cake, watch out for the candy ball cannons and inconspicuous cherries that bounce you away when running into them. You will arrive at a yellow jelly frosted over. Jump-attack it together to break the candy and bounce ahead.
Birthday Cake Dentist Boss Fight Guide
Once you light up all the candles at the top, the landscape will darken, and the dentist boss fight will begin. Wiggle the left stick of your controller or the indicated keys on the keyboard to escape the chair. If one of you is getting drilled by the dentist, the other can dash into them to assist. Jump over the dentist’s brush and avoid the candy he throws on the platform.
When the dentist’s dentures spring out to attack, dash out of the way until they flip over. Then, jump-attack on top of the dentures before commandeering them and attacking one of the dentist’s hands with them. While one player chews on the dentist’s hand with the chattering teeth, the other needs to jump-attack the restrained hand.
Next, the dentist will trap a player in a cup, but it is nearly impossible to keep track of them as it is shuffled. When one of you gets split in half, you need to swiftly unite both halves and save the other player from being drilled. Finally, repeat the denture attack before pushing the drill into the dentist’s mouth. Escape using the portal and complete the Birthday Cake side mission.
