Split Fiction’s Space Escape side mission is a tense and cinematic segment that you can experience during Chapter 5 of the game.
In Chapter 5 of Split Fiction, you have the opportunity to step into a heart-pounding space-themed side story crafted by Mio. With an asteroid ramming into the space station, the mission is a race against time to board an escape shuttle before you run out of oxygen. Be sure to find and experience this cinematic level, likely inspired by a certain Academy Award-winning film.
Finding the Space Escape Side Mission
In Rise of the Dragon Realm, keep an eye out for the side mission after defeating the Dragon Slayer boss. Look to the right for a portal and prepare for some teamwork to reach it. Zoe needs to roll into the marked symbol on the right, triggering an updraft.
Mio must then glide into the current before it disappears. Since the airflow lasts only a moment, precise timing is key—either sync the movements perfectly or have Zoe keep rolling to maintain a steady stream of air. Upon reaching the upper platform, Mio can use her fire ability to melt the chain suspending a heavy weight, which lowers a column that Zoe can climb. Here, you will find a portal that leads to the Space Escape side story.
Space Escape Mission Guide
As a warning for the incoming asteroid sounds, you will need to jump across a series of rotating platforms. Jump onto the station’s rotating components while timing your movements to avoid the thruster’s flames. The real challenge begins when you spacesuit up and step into the vacuum of space.
To activate the final escape shuttle, select the correct shapes to complete the central figure. The first part is solved with a triangle and a circle. However, before you can proceed further, the asteroid impacts the space station. You will need to move fast as your suits’ integrity is compromised and their oxygen begins to deplete.
Use the grappling hook and avoid the lasers to find the first oxygen tank. To pump oxygen into your suits, press the appropriate button when the pointer circles to the highlighted segment. The color of the highlight determines the player who needs to press the button: purple for Mio and green for Zoe. Avoid the translucent orange barriers while carefully timing your grapples. Refuel your oxygen once more after passing through the closing doors.
When you reach the shuttle, quickly choose the correct options to the rest of the symbol matching puzzle. Here are the answers:
- Triangle and circle.
- Mirrored “y” and the “>” sign.
- Both halves of the percentage (%) symbol divided horizontally.
- Upwards arrow and circle with a horizontal line through it.
After solving the final puzzle, both characters board the shuttle, completing the mission.
