This guide provides the complete walkthrough of The Poppy Field side mission in the survival RPG STALKER 2.
The Poppy Field is one of the early side missions of the survival RPG STALKER 2. The quest takes you to a mesmerizingly beautiful spot called The Poppy Field. Although it looks pretty and colorful, the Poppy Field causes a detrimental effect when entered inside the field. It causes drowsiness and makes you fall asleep.
You are tasked to find a religious icon in a root cellar inside the field. The quest has multiple ends based on your choice, where you will be rewarded with a unique weapon in one of the options. This guide walks you through The Poppy Field mission in STALKER 2.
How To Start The Poppy Field Quest in STALKER 2
The Poppy Field mission can be started by interacting with Mityay in Zalissya, where he sends you on a mission to the Poppy Field in search of his orthodox icon. The Poppy Field is located northwest of Zalissya.
However, Mityay will not provide you with the exact coordinates of the cellar containing his orthodox religious icon. So you need to find the location on your own or you can get help from a stalker there.

Making a Deal With Pomor at The Poppy Field
Upon reaching the Poppy Field by following your mini-map, you will be contacted by a nearby stalker named Pomor. Upon meeting him, he tries to make a deal with you by offering the cellar coordinates in exchange for 2000 coupons or doing an errand for him.
If you choose to do an errand for him, he will give you a mission of looting some dead bodies around the Poppy Field with their coordinates. You can also choose to find it yourself as another alternate option. Finding Mityay’s Orthodox Icon in The Poppy Field
You can find the root cellar at the above location. Run straight to the Poppy Field from the entrance of Pomor’s house. You will see two wooden houses inside the field. Get past the houses and stick to their right side where you see a tree.
Go straight until you find a dip that leads you to the cellar. Enter the root cellar and you will find the religious icon on the right-side shelf of the next room. Now, that you have the religious icon in hand, you have a choice to make.
Should You Give the Religious Icon to Mityay or Pomor?
After obtaining the religious icon you need to make a choice. You will be provided with two options— Give it to Mityay as accepted or sell it to Pomor to get a unique gun.
- If you return the religious icon to Mityay, he will reward you with a good amount of coupons for your effort.
- Whereas, selling the the religious icon to Pomor will reward you with a unique gun named Unknown Stalker’s AR416 with low durability. However, it must be repaired before you can use or sell it.
