Yara is one of the many characters you can choose in No Return, which is the latest mode in The Last of Us 2 Remastered.

Yara is one of the 10 playable characters available in the No Return mode for The Last of Us Part 2. She isn’t immediately available to play with. If you begin your run with Abby, through progress, you will eventually unlock Yara. To unlock the character, first, play two encounters with Abby to unlock Lev. You will have unlocked Yara after this. Lev plays an important role in Yara’s playstyle, being her companion during the encounters.
Let us look at Yara’s character playstyle and the advantages of using her in this article.
Yara’s Character Playstyle in The Last of Us 2 No Return Mode

Yara is a former Seraphite who is also the older sister of Lev. Lev is one of the more underwhelming characters in the game mode when on her own, but proves to be a reckoning force when paired alongside her younger brother. Her value lies solely in the type of playstyle you are more comfortable with.
Yara begins the round with just a pistol, with absolutely no other weapon, throwables, skills, or buffs. However, she starts her rounds with Lev by her side. Lev acts as an ally who can both attack and defend. Yara comes with the Ally upgrade bench.
Ally Upgrade Bench for Yara’s Character in No Return

The Ally upgrade bench is Yara’s path to help enhance her skills. The twist, in this case, is that none of the upgrade stages have anything to do with Yara. Each stage provides Lev with a skill he can perform to further help Yara survive longer.
While having Lev as a companion is great at the earlier and easier levels, it could prove tricky during the tougher levels. You have to remember that just as Lev aids you, you would have to do the same for him. This is because if he dies, then the encounter will fail as well. So, her playstyle proves to be more of a help-and-be-helped case.
- Ally Lethality: The first stage makes Lev more aggressive and perform kills in a quicker and more frequent manner.
- Listen Mode Clarity: This stage acts as an observation trait. You get to hear the enemies more clearly and make out their positions more distinctly. You can also hold the prompt button to sense nearby enemies through walls.
- Ally Lethality: This stage further enhances Lev’s fighting skills, makes him more aggressive, and increases the chance of more kills.
