Project 007 was first announced in November 2020. James Bond fans were understandably hyped, and the project looked promising because of IO Interactive’s portfolio so far.

Back then, the studio seemed primarily focused on the reboot of the Hitman series. One year after this announcement, they released Hitman 3 in 2021 and continued supporting the game with new contracts for players to enjoy. However, there were no further updates regarding Project 007.

The game seems to have picked up pace once more because the development studio seems to be actively hiring to work on the said project. Without keeping our hopes too high, we have prepared a list of things that fans would probably love to see in the next trailer. The teaser back in the day didn’t reveal much, but we hope the next trailer does, and soon.

Project 007 May Break the Internet by Including These

(NOTE: The following list is not ranked and contains the writer’s opinions.)

1. Elaborate Stealth Gameplay

One of the things that IO Interactive is popular for is their stealth. The Hitman IP takes a deep delve into stealth, taking into account features like disguise and opportunities. Things have only improved with time, and the developers are expected to ace their next project as well. Although 007 doesn’t shy away from a gunfight, infiltration as a ghost could prove to be a lot more fun, especially when it’s what the team is known for.

2. Some Action Sequences

Whenever you wished for it, you could just turn Agent 47 into a killing machine in the Hitman games. That’s something he was specifically designed to do without remorse. However, going in guns-blazing wasn’t as satisfying in the previous games. A gunfight is something that some previous video game entries in the James Bond franchise didn’t lack.

We wish for IO Interactive to give Bond that ‘license to kill’ by making open combat more satisfying. This is also something that they can also show off in the next trailer.

3. High-Tech Gadgets

Another comparison that we would like to draw with Agent 47 is that he is rather rooted in making use of what is present in the environment. Don’t get us wrong. This is what makes him such a lethal character. However, most of his techniques are wit-reliant. This is bound to happen in a game that is stealth-focused.

Something that we would love to see in the upcoming trailer for Project 007 is the protagonist using high-tech gadgets. These can be simple things that make us feel like the developers are staying true to the lore of the British spy. It will also give the trailer a unique touch that fans would probably appreciate.

4. A Fresh Narrative

The last comparison that we would like to draw with the Hitman series is the way narration works in the game. The entire franchise follows a story that is subtly underlined through Agent 47’s various bounty contracts. This is one of the places where a 007 game needs to be different from past IOI games.

While the specific missions could be open-ended, the story should be the main highlight, in our opinion. This will help the protagonist shine brighter. Although the main character would most probably be James Bond, introducing some fresh faces with the new story would also be a decision worth appreciating.

All of these things can be hinted at in the new trailer, whenever the studio decides to drop it. We surely hope it’s soon enough because it has been a long time since the fans received a video game treat from the 007 universe.
