Konami originally released eFootball on 30 September 2021. The game is currently in its fourth edition which was released on 12 September 2024. The game is free to play which allows for a wider audience to access it. eFootball was originally criticized for its graphics when it was released first, however since then, the developers have continously released major updates and fixed the issue.

eFootball enjoys the licensing of major clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich. However, the gameplay feels a lot clunkier when it is compared with EAFC 25 and UFL. The game also has random crossovers which might be fun to some and might not excite others. The most recent crossover was with Japanese manga Captain Tsubasa. Some fans criticized the inclusion of cartoonish graphics while others found it to be refreshing.

eFootball is a decent game for fun and not competitively. It is available for PC and all consoles.

UFL

XTEN Limited released UFL on 28 November 2024. The game is only available on new-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. UFL has received applause from critics for its realistic and smooth gameplay. The game only has limited game modes like Ultimate Team or local offline matches. However, even though the game has been released recently, it already has 5000 licensed players that can be used in the game.

The rating system of UFL is also starkly different than that of other games including EAFC 25. UFL developers have given ratings to players considering all the factors including recent form, overall career, and relevancy. This is why Ronaldo and Messi are currently the highest-rated players alongside current superstars Bellingham, Mbappe, Vini Jr., etc.

UFL vs eFootball showcases a stark gameplay difference between the two games. Despite its recent release, UFL delivers a far more authentic and smooth playing experience. However, gamers who like out-of-the-box collaborations might have fun playing eFootball as well.
