So, every time you train, the racer in question will quickly improve the stats with the Growth Rate effect. The other stats will take much longer to improve.
Before you start building your character, you might want to take a look at their Growth Rates and which stats have the bonus. You will want to pick characters who have Growth Rates on the most important stats, such as Speed and Stamina. Also, keep in mind that you can use certain Power Cards to boost the rate at which a character’s particular stats improve during training.

What Is Inheritance in Umamusume Pretty Derby?

So, if you are beginning your Career playthrough with a particular character, you can choose to add two of the racers you previously used as the current racer’s Legacy 1 and Legacy 2. The Legacy 1 and Legacy 2 characters will be able to transfer some of their sparks as stat boosts onto your chosen Umamusume.
The Umamusume you choose will also receive stat bonuses from sub legacies. Sub legacies are basically the legacy characters you picked when you created both the Legacy 1 and Legacy 2 characters. So, your current racer will have four sub legacy racers, two each from both the Legacy 1 and Legacy 2 selections. While selecting your character’s legacies, you will also need to keep an eye on the Affinity rating. Your goal is to reach the circle rating. So, you should keep experimenting until you find the right match.
