Umamusume Pretty Derby: Legacy Overview
In essence, you take two already existing characters and assign them as the legacies of your current horse girl. This will make your current character gain some stats and strengths from the assigned legacies. Some bonuses will be applied to the new character immediately.
However, this depends on various factors like sparks and affinities. Any stat boosted through this legacy system will be highlighted in yellow for your convenience. Meanwhile, the affinity system exists to indicate the compatibility between the legacy and new unit. You can read more about the affinity system here.
Note: You can only use a character as a legacy if you have cleared Career mode with them.
Umamusume Pretty Derby: Sparks Explanation
Sparks are an important part of the legacy system. Whenever you finish a career run, you will see the sparks for that character. These sparks belong to different colors and have different functions based on these colors. Your new character’s stats, skills, and aptitude will depend on the sparks of their legacies. There are four different types of sparks a character can have. These are:
- Blue Spark: These improve the base stats of your character.
- Pink Spark: This spark can improve the aptitude of the character and make them better to use in certain races depending on the length and track type.
- Green Spark: This is only available to a three-star rarity unit. These sparks can transfer the unique skills of the legacies to the current racer.
- White Spark: This spark is obtained by your normal rarity skills being converted into sparks at the end of a career. Unfortunately, it will be based on random chance. These are standard skills or stat boosts not limited to any one character.
Tips and Tricks for Legacy (Inheritance) in Umamusume Pretty Derby
This system is based on a large amount of luck. However, you can reduce your dependence on luck through some strategies to ensure you get the maximum out of any situation. Some of these strategies are:
- You should try to aim for high compatibility when selecting legacies. This will ensure that you get the most out of a limited supply of characters.
- Secondly, you can also use your friend’s characters as legacies. However, you will have to pay some monies to accomplish this.
- Alternatively, you can also consider using three or four units (all having high compatibility) and putting them in a constant loop of inheritance. Eventually, you will end up with some amazing sparks on units that have great compatibility.
