Fishing in Verse Piece is your secret weapon during the Rimuru Rerun. This guide cuts straight to the chase. Unlock fishing by grabbing the Fishhook on Starter Island. Spend 5K coins, 25 Wood, and 50 Iron at the striped stall. Upgrade to the Golden Fishhook later; it costs 100K coins and rare materials.
Bait is key. Head to Runes Island for Golden, Enhance, and Limitbreak Bait. Pair these with the Legendary Fisherman trait for five rewards per catch.
How To Start Fishing in Verse Piece
To begin fishing in Verse Piece, go to Starter Island and locate the Fishhook Seller NPC. The stall has red and white stripes and is positioned to the right of the docks.
You need 5,000 in-game coins, 50 Iron, and 25 Wood to purchase a basic Fishhook. Once you have it, stand in any fishing circle near the stall to start fishing. Unlike other games, no additional input is required—simply wait for the catch. However, you will be kicked from the server after 20 minutes of inactivity, so be sure to move occasionally.
The Fishhook does not appear in your inventory. Instead, you can identify which type you have based on the color of the rod while fishing.
How To Get the Golden Fishhook
Upgrading to the Golden Fishhook significantly increases your fishing efficiency. To get it, visit the Fishhook Seller again and purchase it with:
- 100,000 in-game coins
- 100 Wood
- 250 Iron
- 50 Gold (obtained through fishing)
- 100 Fish (caught while fishing)
- Fisherman trait (Legendary rarity)
The Fisherman trait is required before purchasing the Golden Fishhook. To unlock it, go to Frost Town and speak to the Traits Reroll NPC. If you do not get the trait immediately, keep rerolling until you obtain it.
How To Upgrade Your Fishhook
Upgrading your Fishhook makes fishing faster and more rewarding. You only need to upgrade once, and the upgrades carry over to the Golden Fishhook when you obtain it.
- Find the Fishhook Upgrader NPC near the fishing spots on Starter Island.
- Trade 5, 15, or 25 Fish to upgrade your Fishhook.
Each upgrade reduces fishing time and improves loot quality.
How To Get Baits in Verse Piece
Using bait increases your chances of catching rare materials. You can buy bait from the Bait Seller NPC on Runes Island. This NPC is easy to find, standing near the water with a small fish icon above their head.

Enhance Bait

Limitbreak Bait
