Twitch streamer and AMP (Any Means Possible) member Duke Dennis is one of the most well-known faces in the streaming scene. At the time of writing, he boasts around 2.5 million followers on his Twitch account. The streamer had a rather unique start to his online career. He began his YouTube channel (Duke Dennis Gaming) while in the U.S. military. Dennis joined the military right after the completion of his high school. Reportedly, he turned down offers to go to college to play football. After completing basic training (as mandatory in the army), the streamer was stationed in Germany.

The streamer completed a four-year contract with the U.S. military, which ended in 2017. Interestingly, Dennis also started uploading vlogs on his YouTube channel (Duke Dennis Gaming). One of his most viewed vlogs from his time in the military is titled ARMY VLOG!! What I do daily? I don’t live with my mom, uploaded on March 30, 2017. This vlog has over 890K views at the time of writing. His job was mostly entailed administrative work.

Dennis also revealed why he had left the military, stating that the routine was too rigorous for him. In a video uploaded in December 2022, the streamer explained that he used to dislike the training regime there, which often included working out and running several miles. In the video, the streamer said:

“I’m not running five miles. I’m not trying to be a super soldier or Captain America. I’m Duke Dennis…they used to be upset with me because they knew my potential and I know my potential. I know if I tried to, I could have the best scores on the whole base if I wanted to…but I chose not to, because at that time I didn’t believe in over exerting myself.”

How Did Duke Dennis Become Famous?

Duke Dennis began his YouTube journey in October 2016, primarily focusing on NBA 2K-related content. His first video was titled NBA 2K17 DROPPED 19 ON SUPERSTAR HEAD. Dennis truly took off after joining AMP (founded in October-November 2019), one of America’s biggest content and streaming groups. AMP also features other popular streamers like Kai Cenat, JustFanum, and Agent 00 Gaming.

Nowadays, Dennis is a full-time streamer, primarily streaming under the “Just Chatting” category. While he stays connected to his NBA 2K roots and occasionally plays it on stream, he also explores other games like Call of Duty and single-player titles like Black Myth: Wukong.
