Asmongold’s controversial comments about the ongoing Gaza conflict resulted in him facing backlash from the online community.
Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” has gone viral on social media due to his comments about the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The 34-year-old popular content creator who co-founded the streaming organization One True King (OTK) in 2020 is well-known for his Just Chatting and reaction content. He’s also an avid gamer who rose to prominence for his knowledge of various aspects of Blizzard Entertainment’s MMORPG World of Warcraft.
On October 14, 2024, a one-minute-15-second-long clip went viral on X, in which Asmongold was seen discussing the ongoing Middle East conflict. He commented on the situation, saying that “these people” are “not the same as us.” Furthermore, he stated that they “come from an inferior culture that is horrible.”
Exploring What Asmongold Said About the Gaza Conflict That Sparked Controversy
The video featured in the abovementioned tweet was taken from Asmongold’s Twitch livestream on October 13, 2024. At the 21-minute mark, the streamer was reviewing submissions on his official subreddit when he decided to comment on the ongoing Gaza conflict.
Claiming that he “wouldn’t cry a river” for those who have “genocide baked into their laws,” Asmongold remarked:
“So no, I am not going to cry a f**king river when people, who have genocide that’s baked into their laws, are getting genocided. I don’t give a f**k! They are terrible people. It’s not even a question. It’s crazy that people don’t see it that way.”

A few moments later, the Texas-based content creator mentioned “these people,” who he referred to as coming from an “inferior culture”:
“These people are not your allies, they are not the same as us. They come from an inferior culture that is horrible. It kills people for their identity, and is directly antithetical to everything Western values stand for, and is an inferior culture in all ways. It is that simple. No! I don’t feel bad for them. I don’t feel sorry for them. I don’t care! I don’t support them. It’s that simple.”
Asmongold Faces Backlash For His Comments
Asmongold’s comments went viral on social media, eliciting responses from hundreds of netizens. Yousef “Fousey,” a Palestinian-American Kick streamer, voiced his discontent with Asmongold’s opinions by writing the following on X:
“F**k this inb**d r**ard and anyone who stands with him. You support genocide, no way around that argument. Imo (In My Opinion), the take is so bad he should be punished. But he want because he’s a part of protected fairies of the internet. Free Palestine till it’s backwards. B**ch.”
Meanwhile, Kacey “Kaceytron,” a Twitch streamer, accused Zack of “directly violating” Twitch’s Terms of Service (ToS). She also questioned whether the Amazon-owned platform would take action against the OTK co-owner.
Twitch streamer Ariana Jasmine accused Asmongold of racism in her tweet and demanded action from Twitch:
“This racist piece of s**t @Asmongold went on Twitch livestream and said that Palestinian people are ‘inferior,’ ‘they aren’t the same as us,’ and they have an ‘inferior culture.’ @TwitchSupport, Why is he not banned?”
“My Bad,” Says Asmongold in Response
On October 15, 2024, the streamer addressed the controversy on X. He stated that he was “way too much of an a**hole about the Palestine thing” and would “do better” in the future.
“Looking back on it, I was way too much of an a**hole about the Palestine thing. My bad. Of course, no one deserves to have their life destroyed even if they do things or have views I find regressive. You guys deserve more than me saying stupid s**t like that, I’ll do better.”
