IShowSpeed is a YouTube streamer known primarily for broadcasting himself trying out a variety of games and conversing with viewers. His real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr. He has gained popularity in the past for his extensive tours of Europe and South East Asia. As part of these tours, IShowSpeed would cover a different country in each livestream. He often engaged in one-to-one interactions with fans he would come across in the streets while visiting these countries.

During the European tour, he covered Romania, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway, among others. On the other side, his tour of South East Asia encompassed Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines, and others.

IShowSpeed currently has 32.6 million subscribers. Some of his recent major YouTube subscriber milestones were reached while he was completing his tour of the South East Asia region. He celebrated reaching 30 million YouTube subscribers by going crowdsurfing while in Cambodia, on September 16, 2024. Just eight days later, the streamer reached 32 million subscribers while in Singapore, and went bungee jumping as a way to celebrate.

During his tour In Europe, he met up with celebrities as well, including former Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović and Swiss female footballer Alisha Lehmann. During the South East Asian tour, he met Major General Tunku Ismail Idris, who is a member of Malaysian royalty and is the Crown Prince of one of its states, Johor. He also held a broadcast focused entirely on interacting with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, with whom he sparred as well.

When YouTube CEO Awarded IShowSpeed The 10 Million Subscriber Diamond Play Button

IShowSpeed was recently given his much overdue YouTube Diamond Play Button, which was awarded after reaching 10 million subscribers on the platform. The streamer, whose following on the platform had passed the 10 million mark back in July 2022, was given the award by the CEO of the platform, Neal Mohan. IShowSpeed has been streaming on YouTube since 2021, after making a shift from Twitch due to an indefinite ban.

To those unaware, the streamer had been banned due to “s*xual coercion or intimidation,” as per Twitch. This was due to remarks made by the streamer while conversating with TikTok personality Ashaley “Ash Kash.” While talking over a video call, he had asked her a “psychological question”:

“I got like, a psychological question. Okay? Say, we’re the last two people on Earth and we had to reproduce to make the world continue. Would you reproduce with me?”

After the TikTok content creator turned him down, he responded with:

“Who’s going to stop me? Who’s going to stop me?! If we are the last two people on Earth, who’s going to stop me?! You’re not stopping me! If we’re the last two people on Earth, who’s going to stop me?”

Needless to say, this had put IShowSpeed in hot water at the time. However, he has since made big strides since his shift to YouTube. He currently averages around 116 million views on a monthly basis.
