Stalker 2 presents you with numerous challenges on your survival journey, including a (not-so-small) matter of broken weapons. Developers added a durability feature to their latest Stalker game but didn’t give us instructions on what to do when a weapon is completely degraded.

The broken armor icon on the gear shows its durability. If it has turned red, the weapon is officially broken. And congratulations, you can no longer sell it. Well, not in this condition anyway.

A weapon must be intact for you to be able to sell it. So, broken weapons can’t be sold. But what can you even do with them? The first thing that comes to mind is to repair them first and then sell them. However, the worse the condition of the weapon, the higher the Technician will charge you to repair it. Chances are, you won’t make a profit by selling it after repair.

You can either find broken weapons out in the wild, or a weapon can break once you have used it enough without much repair. The best thing to do is to take the ammo out of that broken weapon to reserve it and then throw away the weapon.

However, an even better option is to take the precaution instead of the cure. This means that you should repair your weapons before they reach the broken stage.

How To Repair a Non-Broken Weapon in Stalker 2

A non-broken piece of gear will be repaired in the same way as a broken weapon would: by visiting the Technician. These special merchants are marked by a wrench on the map and are located in almost all major settlements.

They are there for when you need to upgrade or repair your gear. As we claimed earlier, these experts charge you extra as the durability keeps on dropping. So, the most profitable deal, in this case, is to gather (or upgrade your existing weapon into) a high-durability weapon.

This way, you would have to visit the Technicians even less. When these durable weapons start degrading, visit the Technician before they reach 50% of their total durability to save your wallet from immense shock.

There is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. So, don’t forget to check out our detailed guide on upgrades, repairs, and all you need to know about them in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
