In this guide, we shall go over the mushrooms found in Act 3 of Path of Exile 2 (POE2) and what to do with them.
As you cruise through Act 3 of Path of Exile 2, you will stumble across various mushrooms. These herbs, sporting red, blue, and green colors, drop at random and will leave you wondering what their real purpose is. To make matters worse, the game leaves you in the dark and does not tell you what to do with them. The truth behind these mushrooms is that they are part of a secret quest.
In this guide, we shall go over the mushrooms found in Act 3 of Path of Exile 2 and what to do with them. We will also go over the details of the quest itself, as well as where to find these mushrooms.
Where To Find the Mushrooms in Act 3 of Path of Exile 2
Before you can decipher the purpose behind the mushrooms, you have to locate them first. The mushrooms come in three variants: red mushrooms, blue mushrooms, and green mushrooms. These are found in Act 3 of Path of Exile 2 in the Apex of Filth. Enemies drop the mushrooms at random. If you’re having trouble obtaining the mushrooms, we recommend sticking to the grind and killing as many enemies as you can in the vicinity to grind and obtain the mushrooms to progress ahead with the quest.
How To Use the Mushrooms
Now that we have the mushrooms we need, we have to head to the Cauldron Keeper in the Apex of Filth. As the name suggests, the Cauldron Keeper is found in close proximity to the cauldron in the Apex of Filth. The cauldron is a large pot with some green stew brewing within it. The Cauldron Keeper NPC is a hulking figure that stands right beside it. The cauldron itself will be randomly placed on the map as Path of Exile 2’s maps are randomly generated, so there is no clear way to pinpoint the NPC’s exact location. The only constant we know of is that the NPC is found adjacent to a large flight of stairs.
Head to the Cauldron Keeper NPC and throw the red, blue, and green mushrooms into the large brewing cauldron. Doing so will complete the hidden mushroom quest and grant you the Magic Life and Mana Flask.
