What’s New in the Finals Season 5
New Map: Bernal
Definitely the most anticipated addition is the new map, Bernal. This new map is set in the shadow of the awe-inspiring Peña de Bernal, one of the largest monoliths in the world. This vibrant location in Mexico features cobblestone streets, narrow pathways, and tight-knit rooftops. This is sure to offer a fresh and dynamic battleground for players. Much like any other map in The Finals, players can shape the map to their liking with destructible environments.
New Weapons and Gadgets
The Finals Season 5 introduces two powerful new weapons: the ShAK-50, a heavy-hitting rifle for the Heavy class. The rifle fires two bullets per shot, delivering immense stopping power. The Cerberus 12GA, on the other hand, is a break-action triple shotgun for the Medium class. The shotgun is loaded with incendiary shells that can set both contestants and the environment ablaze.
Additionally, the developers are also introducing two new gadgets. This includes the Gravity Vortex, a deployable gadget for the Light class. The gadget creates a local singularity that pulls in everything around it, including objectives, players, and objects. Meanwhile, the Lockbolt Launcher is a gadget for the Heavy class. This gadget shoots an anchor into the environment that captures and holds up to three targets.
Clubs: A New Social System
To enhance the social experience, The Finals Season 5 introduces Clubs. This is a new social system where players can form groups and play together. Whether you’re a solo player or prefer party play, Clubs offer a new way to connect, collaborate, and compete with other players. Club features include earning extra XP and Fans by competing as a team and staying informed about your Club’s latest activities through the Club Wall. Additionally, Embark Studios is also introducing new Sponsors to the game.
Anniversary Celebrations
Finally, to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, Embark Studios has planned a special event on December 7, 2024. This event will feature a match between some of the game’s biggest content creators and a compilation of Season 4 highlights. During this event, Embark will also discuss the competitive future of the game and provide more details about Season 5.
