YouTuber “Darren” IShowSpeed was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was raised alongside his younger half-brother, Dian.
Darren “IShowSpeed” is a popular YouTube content creator who became popular for his slapstick style of comedy, which was typically enthusiastic and hilariously over-the-top. IShowSpeed was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 21, 2005, and is currently 19 years old. He started occasionally uploading videos on YouTube in 2016. However, he made his major break to internet stardom in 2021. He started becoming viral online for his exaggerated reactions to in-game content, with clips being shared on social media.
This year was also the starting point of his first video series that strongly attracted viewers, which was the “Talking Tom & Friends” series. Within the app, he would interact with animal-themed characters that respond to spoken words by repeating them or reacting in various ways. His most popular interactions came from Talking Ben the Dog, where he would ask Ben varying questions.
Many of these moments made for viral memes on the internet, giving IShowSpeed a major boost in popularity. Now, the streamer holds 32.6 million followers on YouTube and 25.6 million followers on Instagram. On the other side, his TikTok account has garnered 34.7 million followers.

IShowSpeed met with Simu Liu while visiting the Skypark Sentosa Adventure Sports Center, which is situated on Sentosa Island, Singapore. In a clip of their meeting, IShowSpeed could be heard excitedly greeting the actor as the two dapped each other and hugged. Upon seeing Liu, IShowSpeed said:
“Yo! What’s good, bro? Nice to meet you, man!”
To which, Liu then replied:
“Dude, I saw you on the swing! You looked bada** as f**k.”
The two then got to talking about IShowSpeed’s ongoing tour of South East Asia. The streamer had been covering a new country within the region in each livestream, with him visiting Laos, Cambodia, the Phillippines, Thailand, and others. Revealing that he had been following IShowSpeed’s tour, Liu asked:
“I’ve been following your trip, bro. How’ve you been? You must be so tired.”
IShowSpeed admitted that he was feeling exhausted due to his tight flight schedule as part of the tour, stating:
“It’s been good, bro… Yeah, I am tired. I’ve been taking flights every day. Flights every day, dog.”
Simu Liu then revealed himself as somewhat of a fan of IShowSpeed and stated that he had been following the streamer’s journey for a while now. Congratulating him on building a successful YouTube career in the past few years, Liu said:
“Congratulations for everything, man. That’s been crazy, watching your success and everything, and the way that you’ve blown up.”
The two also partook in the park’s rides together during the livestream. Liu was one of the many celebrities IShowSpeed collaborated with during his tours, which included football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the crown prince of Johor, Malaysia, Major General Tunku Ismail Idris.
