When it comes to Coal in Palworld, the game doesn’t have a variety of ways you can obtain it. It’s an integral resource, but the game doesn’t readily tell you where and how to look for it. That’s what we are here for.

Coal is a resource that isn’t that useful directly. Instead, players can use it to make crafting materials like Carbon Fiber and Refined Metal. These two materials can be used to create guns, ammo, and high-tier spheres.

There are two major ways to get coal. One is by mining it yourself, and the other is letting your pals do all the work. The latter is a good investment but can be a bit expensive for those who are just starting off. So, you can simply pick the more traditional way and mine all the coal yourself.

Coal is a resource that can be found in multiple places, but Twilight Dunes, close to the center of the world map, is where you’ll find it in abundance. Any Coal reserve in the game will look like big black rocks. Don’t be confused with typical Stones because the latter has a lighter tone.

The best part about Palworld is that you can mine coal with any Pickaxe. However, get a Metal Pickaxe if you want to make your job much easier. It costs 15 stone, 20 wood, and 5 ingots to make one. There are two major coordinates in the Twilight Zone that you should explore for Coal. One is (-157, -92), while the other is (-97, -120).

Both of these areas can be difficult to roam if you have the Random Pal Mode on. But other than that, you only need to care about Anubis spawning near the first coordinates.

If you have a flying mount to save you from climbing, you can also head to Verdant Brook. Two coordinates that you need to keep in mind here are (189, -40) and (290, -20), respectively.

Once you have enough resources, you can craft a placeable mining site for coal. This will use 5 Ancient Technology Points and need 70 Stone, 30 Paldium Fragments, and 100 Coal to build. Once done, you can simply clear out some space and place this site at your base. The Pals will do the rest of the work, extracting unlimited Coal from the ground!
