Where to Find Iron Ore in Enshrouded
You can find iron ore in mines in the Kindlewastles area. Iron Ore is an advanced material, and you will need flame level 5 to be able to reach those regions and survive the enshrouded fog to gather it. Having a higher-grade pickaxe will expedite the farming process. So try to bring, for example, bronze tools with you.
We found Iron Ore in the Cave north of Ancient Spire Kindlewastes Fast Travel point, the Ridgeback Mine northeast of the same Ancient Spire, and Cave Passage, located Southeast of the same Ancient Tower. All locations of Iron Ore:
- In the Cave north of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
- Ridgeback Mine northeast of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
- Cave Passage Southeast of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
In the Cave north of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
The first location we found is North of the Ancient Spire Kindlewastes Fast Travel point. It is a big cave system area where you can find iron ore and other Enshrouded resources such as sulfur and lapislazuli. You must enter the cave and head to the bottom within the Enshrouded area.
Ridgeback Mine northeast of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
The second good farm is northeast of the same Ancient Spire in Kindlewastes Fast travel. It’s called the Ridgeback Mine. Again, be aware that it is another Enshrouded area, so some Iron Ore veins are close to a Shroud Root. If you destroy it, you can easily farm Iron ore without worrying about the timer. There is not much space unaffected by fog, so ensure you spend additional points or consume food that will extend your time in the shroud.
In Ridgeback Mine, you will fight minor shroud enemies but also one of the end-game bosses, the Sicklesythe. He will make a sound before each attack. Scythe’s throw can be blocked with the shield, but you must avoid his magic skull missile. Otherwise, you will get significant explosion damage. He attacks rarely so get behind the boss and attack from the back for extra backstab damage.
Cave Passage Southeast of Ancient Spire, Kindlewastes Fast Travel point
Lastly, the third good location to get Iron Ore is the cave passage, southeast of the Kindlewastes Tower fast travel point. It’s a safe area, just above the fog, that requires level 6 flame. However, it’s possible to get there without touching the Enshrouded area. So level 5 should be enough to gather some Iron Ore. There is a decent amount, but you will find more in two previously described areas.
What is Iron Ore?
You can recognize Iron Ore by its dark graphite color and specific texture and shape that resembles black bubbles on a rock. The iron ore used to create tools, weapons, and, currently, the best heavy armor in the game. To craft it, you will need around 15 iron bars and lapislazuli, which are also available in locations where you can find iron ore.
You must put Iron Ore and Charcoal in the Smelter to craft Iron Bars. Charcoal comes from a Charcoal Kiln, combining dirt with wood logs, and is an abundant resource.
