Once you save Gloomy in Stalker 2, you have the option to choose what he rewards you with. Read along to know what’s best.
Gloomy will be ready to give you a reward at the end of the Dangerous Visitors side quest in Stalker 2. This is because the entire mission is about saving him from a group of men who held him captive.
You will first receive this mission nearby from Zhorik. Although this little story has a twist, you must be more interested in the rewards, so let’s keep our focus narrowed.
The mission is all about visiting the location up the road and eliminating all hostiles there. Try not to hurt Gloomy in the process if you wish to reap greater rewards for this quest.
Once everything goes down as planned, he will be upstairs waiting for you. Initiate a dialogue with him and listen as he reveals how much he despises his friends. Now, all you need to do is be a good listener and wait for the reward screen to show up (as shown above).
You will face the following three options:
- [Echo Detector] The detector will do
- [Reward] I have a detector
- [Reward] Got anything else?
The first one will only give you an Echo Detector. However, he doesn’t reveal the location of the stash that he stored nearby and expects you to grab it yourself. Choosing the other two rewards will make him keep his detector to himself but reveal the Magnetic Cave stash.
We suggest that you pick the Echo Detector option. This is because the Magnetic Cave stash will still spawn in the location and is not too difficult to come across. Plus, you can sell the extra detector for some cash!
What if You Claim Gloomy’s Reward Without Helping Him in Stalker 2
If you don’t wish to complete the entire Dangerous Visitors mission and just want to get the rewards and move on, that is also possible. There are no significant consequences for your actions, so you don’t have to worry about an unfavorable ending anyway.
First, you can grab the stash on the way, which is stored away by Zhorik for you to grab. It is located inside a crashed plane. Although two Bloodsuckers can ambush you as you are taking the stash, you can simply loot it and be on your way. However, it doesn’t contain enough to make you feel satisfied.
If you want, you can also enter the nearby Magnetic Cave, loot the stash using your detector, and leave without ever helping Gloomy. As a result, his entire crew, including Zhorik, will be presumed dead. The only person alive among them will be Richter, and he wouldn’t have a clue about what you did, so it doesn’t affect your relationship with him.
The only drawback is that you won’t be able to get that extra Echo Detector from Gloomy to sell later on. But besides that, everything will remain the same.
