Minecraft stream Cobalt has gone viral on social media after defeating the Ender Dragon in Minecraft in under 60 seconds.

Although speedrunning — the practice of finishing a game as quickly as possible by utilizing bugs and optimized strategies — has a devoted following, Cobalt’s run of less than 60 seconds stood out as one of the most remarkable achievements in the game’s history.

His recent accomplishment of finishing Minecraft in less than 60 seconds went viral and brought him considerable attention. Cobalt used a combination of flawless execution, game-breaking bugs, and efficient world generation to accomplish this very impossible task.

Additionally, he kept his audience updated on X and started off with his first post being made on January 31, 2025. He made an announcement saying:

“15,000+ attempts and 100+ hours later, the grind will hopefully come into an end. The semi-final push to beat Minecraft in under a minute on a set seed comes this weekend.”

Then, on February 2, 2025, he announced that he had successfully defeated Minecraft in just 58 seconds, after several attempts. His post read:

“The grind is finally over. Minecraft beaten in under 60 seconds, some stupid amount of attempts and close calls later.”

Who is Cobalt?

Born on June 26, 2003, amCobalt, whose real name is Evan, is a 20-year-old American content creator. He is well known for his engaging and interactive speedrunning videos and Minecraft games.

In September 2018, Evan launched his YouTube career with the channel OKCobalt, posting educational videos on the history of video games and significant gaming events like the Tetris World Championships. He started the amCobalt channel in 2022 with a primary focus on Minecraft content.

He has more than 230,000 subscribers on YouTube, and many of his videos have received millions of views. Notably, in just six months, one of his videos uploaded in June 2023, titled, “Minecraft’s (Almost) Impossible Death Message” had over 16 million views. His recent accomplishment of finishing Minecraft in less than 60 seconds went viral and brought him considerable attention across all social media platforms.
