American commentator and YouTuber Jake Doolittle is well-known for working with other commentary channels, including Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden. When working alone, he primarily creates content that offers commentary on a range of subjects, including Dr. Phil, personal experiences, his complaints about other online celebrities like LankyBox, and ongoing internet drama.

Jake Doolittle started making YouTube videos in 2020. Over the years, he had built a steadily growing YouTube channel with a loyal following. He has uploaded a total of 529 videos which have garnered 54,718,931 views.

However, Jake has been criticized here and there a number of times. People do not appreciate that 90% of the profits from merchandise sold in his charity’s name goes to Jake and he only gives away 10%.

Jake Doolittle’s Downfall

Jake Doolittle started off making a name for himself by leveraging his past work. He had worked for major creators and influencers and knew the best way to get the most out of it was to make a place on a platform like YouTube. One of his most famous series was where he exposed other creators for deceiving their audience or practicing plagiarism.

Moreover, Jake Doolittle called for his own downfall when he uploaded a video titled “Ethan Klein: Harmful or Hypochondriac”. This video received a lot of backlash for being insensitive towards Ethan’s disease. It also sparked a debate questioning “Where does a critique draw the line?” In the video Jake says,

“If I were to stand back and watch Ethan lie saying certain things about his health that are just straight up misinformation then I would be doing a disservice to an entire community. Klein claimed to have Lupus made money off of it and then admitted that he made everything up and self- diagnosed himself.”

Recently, he uploaded a now-deleted video where he stated that fellow YouTubers didn’t donate to his charity, as much as he expected them to. Initially, he said he wouldn’t take names but would take some in the future. The video was titled “I’m Frustrated With Commentary YouTubers” which he took down just hours after uploading. He later apologized for the video and blamed his health for his actions. In the now-deleted video, Jake Doolittle says,

“Hello everyone! Today’s going to be a little bit different video because I am frustrated with a lot of your favorite creators…”

He then went on to talk about the charity named “Never Stop” and how he created it two to three years ago. Jake said that he is about to reach 300,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel yet there are no YouTubers who have donated anything to his charity. He said,

“I have actually sent merchandise to creators to try to get them to talk about Never Stop and it only worked with one and that person wasn’t even a YouTuber. It was a singer. Throughout this video, I am not going to name names but I would like you to know that I am going to name names at some point possibly next month.”

However, once the situation worsened, Jake uploaded another video titled “addressing everything” where he talked about the whole situation. He went on to say that he was really upset while he was recording the video and that his health was not in good shape. Jake Doolittle said,

“I want to start out by saying the video that I posted I was very upset recording that. The attitude and the tone everything was bad. I came across as annoying and entitled and prior to recording that day I had been dealing with with one of the first, like big major health scares that I’ve had in the last 3 to four years since I’ve started YouTube”.
