Why Bungie Disabled Facet of Hope Prismatic Fragment in Destiny 2
Bungie disabled the Facet of Hope to prevent widespread BIRD error codes affecting players. This was officially announced via an in-game message, which reads:
“The Facet of Hope Prismatic Fragment has been disabled for causing players to receive the BIRD error code in activities.
It will be re-enabled again once a fix can be deployed at a later date”
Additionally, Bungie confirmed that they will re-enable the fragment once the error is resolved in the future.
Error codes are common for online multiplayer titles like Destiny 2. Moreover, during the latest episode of Heresy, many players reported encountering the error code BIRD, which has prevented them from various in-game activities. Bungie has acknowledged the issue and identified the Facet of Hope as the cause of the widespread errors.
Before officially disabling the fragment, Bungie announced on social media that they had been working around the BIRD error code for several weeks and advised players to unequip Facet of Hope.

Despite Bungie’s decision, some players have expressed frustration on social media, claiming they did not experience any error while using Facet of Hope on their builds. Others speculate that the BIRD error code may have an entirely different root cause.
