Learn how to break the barricade in WWE 2K25 and execute those 5-star matches while amusing your opponents.
WWE 2K25 returned this year with a bombastic feature of breaking the barricade. For players who are not familiar, the “barricade” refers to the thick, short, black walls that separate the wrestling area from the audience. This is to ensure the safety of both the viewers and the wrestlers.
However, in live matches, the heat between two opponents often results in the barricades getting broken. This feature wasn’t possible in any game in the franchise until WWE 2K25. However, there is a prerequisite condition that all players must meet.
Arenas Where You Can Break Barricades in WWE 2K25
While this feature is pretty revolutionary compared to previous WWE games, it is still new to the franchise. As we gamers already know, not every new feature in a series is perfect the first time around. So, unfortunately, many big and modern WWE arenas that have electronic displays on the barricades cannot be broken.
Players can certainly interact with them and damage them. However, breaking them is impossible at the time of writing. With that said, the list of arenas with breakable barricades is as follows:
- Arena Estatal
- Backlash 2024
- Bash In Berlin
- Clash In The Castle
- Elimination Chamber 2024
- Hell in a Cell 2017
- Japan Dome
- King & Queen Of The Ring
- Mixed Match Challenge
- Money In The Bank 2017
- Mutinymania
- New Year’s Revolution 2007
- No Mercy 2000
- NXT
- Raw 2002
- Raw 2011
- Royal Rumble 2022
- SmackDown 2002
- Super Showdown 2020
Many of the areas mentioned in the list above will need to be unlocked by playing the Showcase and MyRISE Modes. Additionally, most NXT arenas with special guards will be unbreakable, along with classic WWE and WCW arenas like SummerSlam ’88 and WCW Halloween Havoc.
Learning To Break the Barricade In WWE 2K25
Once your prerequisite of selecting the right arena is done, you can now freely slam your opponent through a barricade. While it may not be easy, you can increase your chances of doing it by selecting one of the top two barricade corners.
In my experience, a barricade is only breakable in the top left and top right corners. The best wrestlers for the job are the ones who can do suplexes. These can be belly-to-belly, belly-to-back, exploder, German, and all kinds of suplexes. Once you and your opponent are both standing in the desired spot, use the following steps to fulfill your wish of breaking the barricade in WWE 2K25:
- You can bring your opponent to this part of the arena by using the Irish Whip by pressing the B/Circle button to grab them and then holding B/Circle to throw them. If you do this near a rope, they will fall over on the outside floor.
- Take the opponent to either the top left or top right area of the arena. Now, ensure your wrestler has their back to the breakable corner.
- The last step is to hit the suplex.
If you have performed all the steps correctly, the barricade will break. If it doesn’t break, don’t be disheartened. It can take a few tries before you master the art.
