Being a beginner in Atlyss isn’t easy because the game doesn’t tell you everything right away. Read on to find the best tips.
Being a beginner in Atlyss is all about learning how the game functions. While the game will guide you a little, it doesn’t have a rulebook that you need to follow with each step you take. So, it may be a little confusing for those who are starting right away.
But worry not, the gaming community has discovered some of the best tips for you if you find yourself stuck somewhere or in need of some guidance. The tips may be endless in the world of Atlyss, but we will list only the ones that we think require the utmost priority.
Kindly note that reading forward will subject you to the writer’s views that you may or may not agree with. Additionally, know that the list here is in no specific order and a beginner must pay attention to all of them alike.
1. Choosing Your Class
When you first kick off the game, you will eventually have to create a custom character. Despite all the freedom in character creation, players are not given a choice of class. This is because a surprise is waiting for them at Level 10. Once you have spent enough time in Atlyss and have reached Level 10, you will finally get to choose your class.
Until this point, everyone is in Novice Class, but now the choice is between a Fighter, a Mystic, and a Bandit. Be careful with your choice because no matter what, you won’t be able to change your Class later on.
2. Re-Allocating Your Skill and Attribute Points
There are a few attributes for you to invest in. Namely, Strength, Mind, Dexterity, and Vitality. You will be investing in these until and even after reaching Level 10. Chances are, you may have invested in an Attribute that doesn’t work well for a certain class. For example, investing in Mind while having a Fighter class will have no big effects.
Although you can’t change your class, you can respec your stats and skills in Atlyss. It comes at a cost but is worth the money because you won’t need to grind again by creating a new save file.
3. Cosmetic Changes
If you want to do something in an RPG, we always recommend doing it in style. When you first created your character, you may have had something specific in mind. But what if you changed your mind mid-game? That is the type of concern we wish to rid you of.
Much like the Class system, you can’t change the Race of your character. Once you have chosen it, it can’t be undone. However, the rest of the physical features you may wish to alter, are definitely possible with the help of the Mirror of Illusions. It is located in the Sanctum. You may have to grind a little to get the Illusion Stones but our guide on changing the appearance should solve half of your confusion.
4. Getting Experienced Fast
Becoming experienced at a game is mostly trial and error. As you keep playing, you become a more seasoned player. However, when it comes to XP, the deal is completely different. Gaining XP faster will grant you access to a lot of new missions, locations, bosses, and skills you were not able to explore before.
So, as a beginner in Atlyss, we suggest you put a lot of your time into exploring how to get experience fast. One of the things that you can do pretty early on in the game is complete repeatable quests over and over again; they are repeatable for a reason. Other than that, make sure to slay groups of enemies whenever feasible. Gaining XP fast in the game will help you progress a lot quicker.
5. Mastering Parry
Parrying is the most offensive defense move that the gaming industry has seen. The last sentence may be ironic, but it’s true. Whichever game has a Parry system, your duty is to master it as a gamer. Nothing is more satisfying than deflecting an enemy attack and leaving them vulnerable.
Even in Atlyss, you can Block at the right time to Parry an incoming enemy attack. The game has a pretty long Parry window. So, start your Block. If the enemy hits you while the barrier is flickering, “Parry” will be written on the screen. You can then proceed to bombard the staggered enemy. However, if the enemy manages to hit you after the barrier has stabilized, you will block the attack. Either way, you don’t lose significant HP. But we suggest that you master Parry in Atlyss as quickly as possible.
