Dragon Age: The Veilguard is all about optimizing your combat experience by perfecting your build. You do so by bringing the right weapons, the ideal armor, the best accessories, and most important of all, the correct companions. The companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard accompany you in battle and bring their own set of companion skills to complement your build. Davrin is a member of the Grey Wardens faction and is one of the companions you can pick to fight on your side in battle. Davrin is a warrior, and his companion skills reflect that.

In this guide, we shall go over the five best companion skills for Davrin in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

1) Armor Breaker

The first skill we recommend picking right away is the Armor Breaker companion skill. This skill falls in the Heroic Strike skill tree and boosts damage against enemy armor by 50 percent. Davrin’s aggression, paired with this armor-shredding skill, lets him run through enemies with ease.

2) Blood and Fire

Blood and Fire is another skill we recommend storing in your arsenal. This skill is a Heroic Strike Ability Upgrade and inflicts Bleeding and Burning status effects on enemies for each critical hit. First, the critical hit deals high damage. The Bleeding and Burning status effects then drain the remaining enemy HP to finish the job.

3) Second Helping

In the heat of battle, Davrin can summon Assan to strike a target from above (Assan Strike). The Second Helping skill expands upon that by letting Assan strike two targets instead of one. Assan deals 50 percent of the base damage to an enemy close to the initial target. This skill is perfect for late-game mobs and lets you deal with them swiftly.

4) Breathing Room

The Breathing Room skill is more of a support skill that falls under the Battle Cry skill tree. In Battle Cry, Davrin lets out a formidable shout and taunts enemies to draw their attention. With the Breathing Room skill unlocked, you replenish 50 HP for each second of the taunt’s duration. This skill not only draws enemies away from you but also heals you.

5) Staggering Talons

Staggering Talons is a Death from Above skill where Davrin once again summons Assan to attack a target from the skies. This skill deals 100 percent stagger damage and can leave a large chunk of enemies exposed to takedowns and finishing blows from Rook.
