Devil May Cry 5 has some of the best bosses you can fight. Here is a list to condense down the best of them.

Devil May Cry 5 is not just the best action game to have graced the video game industry. It also contains some of the most fun and replayable boss fights. These boss fights are actually so replayable that the devs have managed to add six difficulty levels in the game. And it is actually true; DMC 5 does not get boring with the variety and quality of boss fights that it includes.
We have ranked the top five boss fights out of all the bosses in DMC 5 in this list.
5) Malphas

This is the only top-tier boss that is fought outside of Dante’s section. You fight Malphas as Nero, and this boss fight is designed for that character. She continuously runs away, but that is not a problem for Nero because he can just grapple his way back.
Her random bouts of aggressiveness can be countered by Nero’s charged revolver attacks. Overall, she’s really fun to fight with Nero, especially when you’re using the Ragtime Devil Breaker.
4) Urizen

Urizen is the main big bad of Devil May Cry 5. And all of his encounters turn into amazing boss fights. The ones with Dante are just top-tier, especially after Dante unlocks the Sin Devil Trigger. The final fight manages to top all of his previous encounters as well. Urizen is a well-written villain and a challenging boss who stays at the top before Vergil’s entrance.
3) Cavaliere Angelo

Cavaliere Angelo is not just an amazing fight. He is supposed to be an upgrade from the Nelo Angelo fights from Devil May Cry 1. The devs not only pay homage to the previous games but also manage to one-up their boss fights, too. If there is a boss that is solely designed for Dante’s Royal Guard style, then it is Angelo in DMC 5.
It is so fun to parry him, and this fight feels like a proper duel. The soundtrack also pumps you up, and the reward for beating this boss is really cool as well. You get the most stylish weapon in the series for defeating Cavaliere Angelo, which makes the boss worth beating.
2) King Cerberus

King Cerberus is a direct reference to the Cerberus fight from Devil May Cry 3. If you’re a fan of the original games, then you are going to catch all of the clever references made in this fight. Dante’s dialogues and the opening sequence of the battle build upon the events of DMC 3. This time around, Cerberus isn’t chained either, and the monster has three different phases.
Every phase brings out a new element, like ice and lightning. Even though King Cerberus has a huge health bar, this fight does not get boring with the number of moves the boss can pull. Oh, and the music is just out of this world. It is so weird and amazing at the same time. And no other OST in the game sounds like this.
1) Vergil

It’s like every time Vergil makes an appearance in the franchise, his boss fight overshadows everything else. This was the case in Devil Cry 3, and history definitely repeated itself in DMC 5. There are actually two Vergil fights in the game, one against Dante and the other against Nero. Both of them have been executed perfectly.
Everything from the boss’s moveset to the music to the narrative has been baked to perfection. Unlike his DMC 3 fight, Vergil feels much fairer to take on. He is still a very difficult boss, but all of his attacks can be countered in some way. That takes this boss fight to another level of replayability. You will continue to practice Vergil until you’ve mastered his every move on all difficulty modes.
