Make the perfect Mage build for yourself with these best Mage weapons in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and wreak havoc on enemies.
Choosing the best Mage weapon for Rook can be a difficult task due to the weapon variety in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Mage is largely a ranged class and doesn’t typically require close combat. However, there is also a weapon for those who prefer to slash their enemies along with casting spells.
There are not many weapons that a Mage uses compared to other classes, so today’s list might be a little compact. While spell casting is something they are experts at compared to the other two classes in the game, they need weapons to keep their DPS high during combat situations and use magic to their advantage. Moreover, there are no rankings. We have tried bringing you the best that these five Mage weapons offer in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Best Mage Weapons and Their Locations
1. Twist of the Veil (Mageknife):
This knife is best suited for close combat. It offers 53 Physical damage to the enemy while also dealing 29 Stagger damage. One of the perks is a 25% increase in damage against Armored enemies. Additionally, it offers a 30% increase in Charged Attack damage. This dagger can spawn randomly in a large chest in the Elven Ruins, so be on the lookout.
2. Veilsong (Arcane Orb):
This deals 43 Necrotic Damage to enemies and adds 84 Stagger damage. One perk is a 25% increase in Stagger damage. You can also deal bonus damage up to 20% of the enemy’s Stagger. Veilsong is obtained by opening chests; it was found in a chest in the Broken Stairway area of the Elven Ruins.
3. Firebrand (Elemental Orb):
Both Arcane and Elemental Orbs attack from mid-range. If you prefer not to deal with Necrotic damage, perhaps 72 Fire Damage will interest you. It offers only 35 Stagger damage. When an enemy is low on health, expect it to deal 20% more damage. You also gain precision if you kill with this weapon. This Orb is found by opening a chest in Arlathan Forest, behind the Blight Wall in Cliffside Passage.
4. Flamebranch (Elemental Staff):
This weapon delivers 58 Fire Damage and 17 Stagger damage, with a bonus perk of a 15% increase in Mana generation. Additionally, you can generate +2 Mana if you hit a Burning enemy with this Staff. In Crossroads, destroying a large Blight will spawn an enemy you need to defeat. Afterward, destroy the leftover Blight and open the large chest left behind to find this weapon.
5. Frostbranch (Elemental Staff):
One of the best Mage weapons, Frostbranch deals 72 Cold Damage and 26 Stagger. Use Charged attacks to deal 20% more damage, and up to 50% more if the Charged attack is against an Armored enemy. While exploring the Cliffside Passage in Arlathan Forest, look for a locked gate. Behind it, a large chest contains Frostbranch.
This wraps up our list here. However, as we always say, don’t restrict yourself to these lists. Explore and find out what works best for you. Combine these weapons with our Best Mage Build and you will be all set to wipe the floor with your enemies.
