Dynasty Warriors Origins has a complex story with multiple endings, and you will need to complete the game more than once if you want to unlock all of them. In most cases, you can replay a game via New Game+ (NG+), where you start the game from the beginning. Dynasty Warriors Origins has a neat trick here with the Story Mode, that allows replayability in a more dynamic sense.
You only unlock Story Mode after you have finished at least one ending of the game. This feature is essential if you want to unlock all the endings, or even the True Ending for any route. What is The Story Mode in Dynasty Warriors Origins?
You will unlock the Story Mode in Dynasty Warriors Origins after unlocking at least one of the endings. Once you have achieved any one of the endings, simply save the game, load back into it, and head to any inn. You should see a couple of new options here, including the Story Mode.
The Story Mode is like a logbook that notes all the content you have covered in your first run of the game. All the chapters and factions that you have unlocked will be noted in chronological order. Each chapter and its missions are noted separately, along with a branching feature for the different factions.
In case there are multiple routes that are there from a point, you will be able to see a branching feature here. If you want to take the other route, simply load to the branch and embark on the new path instead. You do not have to redo any of the content leading up to the branch/choice here.
Uses of Story Mode
The Story Mode can be advantageous for the following purposes in Dynasty Warriors Origins:
- Unlocking True Endings of any faction that you have already achieved.
- Choosing a different faction and unlocking all of its endings.
- Completing a mission that you might have missed during your first playthrough.
