Minecraft is a game that rewards exploration and sees you exploring caves, forests, underground mines, and so much more. Exploring the latter, however, is a constant source of frustration due to the lava pits. Frequently, you’ll be digging through the underground in search of resources, only to stumble across a gaping hole that drops you right into a hot lava pit, leaving you burning and damaged. If this happens to you as often as it does to us, the Fire Resistance potion is what you need.

The Fire Resistance potion, as its name suggests, grants the Fire Resistance status effect, making you immune to fire damage. This potion grants immunity against all fire sources, which include fire itself, blaze fireballs, fire charges, magma blocks, and lava. There are four types of Fire Resistance Potions you can make in the game: the Potion of Fire Resistance, Potion of Fire Resistance Extended, Splash Potion of Fire Resistance, and the Lingering Potion of Fire Resistance.

If you’re looking to make these potions but don’t know how we have you covered. In this guide, we shall go over how to make a Fire Resistance potion in Minecraft.

How To Make Fire Resistance Potion in Minecraft?

To make a Potion of Fire Resistance in Minecraft, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 Water Bottle
  • 1 Nether Wart
  • 2 Blaze Powder
  • 1 Slimeball

With these ingredients in hand, head over to the Crafting Table and interact with it to open the Crafting grid. Place the Slimeball and one of the Blaze Powders into the grid to get the Magma Cream.

Next, head over to the Brewing Stand and interact with it to bring up the Brewing menu. In this menu, place your Water Bottle at the bottom of the stand and the Nether Wart at the top. For the fuel section, use the remaining Blaze Powder. The fuel will heat up the Nether Wart, which will drop into the water to form the Awkward Potion.

Let the Awkward Potion remain at the bottom of the stand. At the top, where the Nether Wart was, add the Magma Cream. The stand will then brew the Magma Cream and mix it with the Awkward Potion to give you the Potion of Fire Resistance.

The Other Fire Resistance Potions

While the Potion of Fire Resistance grants you three minutes of immunity, you can make the Potion of Fire Resistance Extended to get the eight-minute version. You make this version by adding Redstone Dust to the Potion of Fire Resistance in the Brewing Stand. Similarly, you make the Splash and Lingering versions of the potion by adding Gunpowder and Dragon’s Breath to the Brewing Stand, respectively.
