During his livestream on February 5, 2025, Twitch streamer “Asmongold’ Hoyt” talked about his most controversial opinions. He admitted that he is a fan of Kyle Rittenhouse, and it’s the most controversial opinion he can share without getting himself in trouble.
Kyle Rittenhouse fatally shot two men and injured another when he was 17. In August 2020, an individual named Jacob Blake died in a police shooting, which led to protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse attended the event, joined armed people, and ran into confrontations.
Police arrested Rittenhouse, who claimed self-defense and was acquitted in 2021. The incident received widespread coverage and divided people’s opinions about him. Since his release, he has become a gun rights advocate. In March 2022, video game developer Nordic Games released a game featuring Rittenhouse titled ‘Acquitted.’ In June 2024, he became the outreach director for the Texas Gun Rights organization.
Asmongold Shares His Opinions on Rittenhouse
During his recent livestream, Asmongold talked about how much he supports Rittenhouse despite criticism from his fans:
“Kyle Rittenhouse, totally support him. Absolutely, huge fan. Absolutely, W.”
A chatter told Asmongold:
“That’s a bit excessive though?”
Asmongold defended his stance and said that it’s his most extreme opinion that he can share without landing in trouble. The streamer defended Rittenhouse and explained:
“I think also if somebody initiates physical violence against you, if somebody hits you or somebody grabs you, and you kill them, it’s totally fine. Totally fine. Don’t touch people, don’t be violent, that’s it. There’s no reason to put your hands on somebody else and hurt somebody. And the people that do that, might as well clean the gene pool a little bit. That’s self-defense.”

The streamer also admitted that he has “a lot more opinions like that” that are worse. Asmongold added that he does not want to get banned from Twitch, which is why he will not share those opinions with his audience.
Hasanabi Says Asmon Is “Desperate To Be Edgy”
Asmongold has made a series of controversial statements this year. His open support for US President Donald Trump and his political opinions have divided internet users. On January 22, 2025, Asmon brought up the Holocaust and commented:
“I am not one of these Holocaust deniers. The Holocaust probably happened. Probably 99% certainty it happened.”
The streamer clarified that he condemns the historical incident and the destruction it caused. However, people took issue with how the streamer presented his argument. Streamers Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker called Asmongold out for his comments.
Hasan reacted to Asmon’s comments and said:
“Dude, why is he saying there’s a 1% chance the Holocaust did not happen? Like, are you that desperate to be edgy? Come on Asmon. What’s wrong with your bro?”
xQc had similar thoughts and said that the Holocaust is not a “dialogue” and it’s an incident that factually happened. Asmongold told his audience that he did not care if he got banned over his comments, as he had allegedly lost most of his sponsors already.
