However, you might wonder if Monster Hunter Wilds also has a local save.

Does Monster Hunter Wilds Use Local Save Storage?

Yes, Monster Hunter Wilds saves data locally on your device. Your progress is saved directly on your hard drive initially. As such, the game encourages you to use an SSD over a standard HDD to play and install the game.

The local save in Monster Hunter Wilds is not the only way the game handles the saved data. This local save file is also synced and uploaded to a cloud server, where it is stored securely. Every time you save the game, the local file is updated, and it syncs with the cloud save. In case your device goes offline while playing, the local save can come to your rescue.

When you turn on Monster Hunter Wilds after your internet connection is disconnected, you will notice a save-file conflict notification. This will tell you that the local and cloud save files do not match, and you should choose which one to select. At times like these, you should select the local save file for Monster Hunter Wilds.
