In Arrakis, you’ll come face to face with a wide range of threats, from the hostile environment and weather conditions to enemies and other players out for blood. Therefore, it is crucial to equip yourself properly before tackling any specific situation or quest. One of the key choices to make is what your character will wear during a particular outing. The game offers both traditional armor pieces and stillsuits, and it can be difficult to choose between these if you don’t know what their particular purposes are.

In this guide, we’ll explore whether you should wear a stillsuit or armor in Dune Awakening based on your current circumstances.

Stillsuit or Armor in Dune Awakening: Which Should You Pick?

Before we dive into the details for each, let’s make one thing clear: stillsuits are perfect for exploring the world of Arrakis and light combat. However, if you’re planning to take on huge groups of enemies, equipping armor would be your best bet.

Stillsuits

These are wearable pieces of gear whose primary benefit is recycling water from the wearer’s body. With the planet being as arid and hot as it is, exploring too long during the daytime can leave you dehydrated. You will need to carry several containers of water if you aim to roam around in the sun for considerable periods. A stillsuit makes this prospect simpler. It can recycle water from your body, giving you an alternate source of drinking water. You can press F to drink this specific water when your hydration levels drop.

While every stillsuit has some armor rating, they do not offer the same level of protection as armor pieces do. However, if you can craft or acquire a unique stillsuit, you will discover that its armor ratings can easily match those of armor. In such cases, you can wear the stillsuit throughout both combat and exploration. This will be especially beneficial if you are playing as a melee character. Since stillsuits are light, they won’t impede your movement as much, allowing for quicker dodges and dashes.

Armor

The main purpose of armor is protection, so these are primarily built for when you’re engaging in combat. But Dune Awakening has different types of armor available, each suited to different scenarios. For instance, you need to equip light armor if you’re playing a melee build. Doing so ensures that you don’t use up quite as much stamina when dodging attacks or dashing toward a foe.

On the other hand, we recommend heavy armor if you are a ranged character. These are great at protecting you from projectile attacks, reducing damage significantly from incoming shots. However, due to the additional weight, dodging or dashing can drain your stamina meter significantly.
