When you progress to the later parts of Death Stranding 2, you’ll reach the Snowy Mountains region. This is perhaps the most difficult terrain to traverse, primarily because Sam’s stamina drains much quicker and he’ll start running out of oxygen. If the oxygen levels deplete too much, Sam can pass out.

How To Survive in the Snowy Mountains in Death Stranding 2
Survival in this particular region will require Sam to adapt when it comes to the kind of equipment and tools he uses. Many of these tools and gear are optional unlocks, which you might not even own if you don’t reach certain facility connection levels. In those cases, we’d suggest going back and performing optional Aid Requests and Sub Orders for the facilities that reward you with those gear pieces. Otherwise, progressing through the Snowy Mountains can be difficult.
