Introduced in the July 4th update, the Knight class in Dead Rails brings classic melee combat and solid early armor to the battlefield. While it might not shine solo, it’s a vital part of one of the strongest synergies in the game, the King and Knights combo.
What Is the Knight Class in Dead Rails Roblox?
The Knight is a defensive melee class that starts each run with three key pieces of gear: a Sword, a Helmet, and a Chestplate. It gives you a solid head start in protection and melee damage without spending any money at vendors.
However, the real strength of Knight lies in its passive synergy. When you’re in a run with a teammate using the King class, your presence boosts the King’s health and damage. The more Knights in the party, the stronger the King becomes, and those buffs stack.
How To Unlock the Knight Class
To get Knight, follow these steps:
- Talk to the Tailor in the lobby.
- Scroll to the Knight class.
- Spend 75 Bonds to unlock it.
You can earn Bonds by:
- Completing regular or Nightmare runs
- Finding hidden Bond caches in events or POIs
- Completing specific run challenges
Knight Class Loadout and Gear
Upon spawning, Knight starts with:
- 1× Sword – solid early-game melee damage
- 1× Helmet – head protection
- 1× Chestplate – torso protection
- 1× Shovel – for digging, as always
You’ll only need to find Shoulder Armor to complete your set.
This gear saves you early-game spending and gives you enough durability to handle zombies or Outlaws right out of the gate.
Knight Class: Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Starts with armor and sword, saving money.
- Early melee-focused survivability.
- Synergizes with the King class. Stacks with each Knight.
- Good pick for team-focused runs or support roles.
Cons:
- Expensive at 75 Bonds.
- Outclassed by other melee classes like Tycoon or Vampire.

- Offers no solo benefits outside of gear.
Is Knight Worth It?
The Knight class is a strong team-based role, especially when used to empower a player running the King class. If you play with friends and plan to build around that synergy, Knight is well worth the cost.
However, solo players or those looking for stronger melee options may want to skip it. While the armor is nice, Tycoon, Vampire, or even Necromancer offer more flexibility and damage during a run.
That said, if you enjoy roleplaying, tanking early, or supporting your squad’s King, Knight is a fun and thematic pick that fits perfectly into a coordinated team strategy.
