How to Get Perpetualis in Destiny

To get Perpetualis in Destiny 2, players will need to own Season of Defiance and complete the “Awaken, Queensguard” mission. This will open up the Seasonal Playlist, Defiant Battlegrounds, which drops all of the Season of Defiance weapons including Perpetualis. Defiant Battlegrounds have a chance to drop Perpetualis or another Defiant weapon or Armor Piece. You can use a Defiant Key to also get a Resonant version of Defiant weapons as well. The Defiant Battlegrounds playlist is found on the HELM.

You can also focus your Defiant Engrams that you earn at the War Table Found in the HELM as well if you have the Defiant Weapon Focusing War Table Upgrade. It cost 4 Defiant Engrams and 3000 Glimmer to do this.

In order to get more Deepsight Resonant Weapons quickly in order to craft, you should pick the following War Table upgrades when available: Defiant Weapon Focusing, Deepsight Decoding, and Queensguard’s Arsenal. More details on how to unlock it: How to Get Destiny 2 Perpetualis Auto Rifle Guide

PvE – Perpetualis God Roll

The following list presents Destiny 2 Perpetualis God Roll for PvE

BarrelArrowhead Brake
MagazineTactical Mag, Appended Mag
Perk 1Enhanced Envious Assassin
Perk 2Enhanced Hatchling
Origin TraitNoble Deeds
MasterworkStability, Range
ModCounterbalance Stock

Barrel: When it comes to Auto Rifles keeping your reticle on target can be more difficult than other weapons, especially on controller. Arrowhead break makes that Recoil much, much easier to control. Smallbore, Polygonal Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling, and Fluted Barrel are also decent picks for this slot as well.

Magazine: In PvE we want to put as many rounds in as many enemies as possible as quickly as possible. This means we don’t want to waste precious time reloading. Tactical or Appended Mag help us with that a lot, with Tactical Mag giving us some Stability and Appended Mag giving us more rounds in the magazine. Either works great.

Column 3 Perk: This column has lots of okay perks, but nothing that really jumps out as a must have. Envious Assassin helps our ammo economy which is great for primary add clearing weapons like this. Keep Away has some fun potential, but is situational in the worst way. Killing Wind (and Zen Moment on controller) are always nice safe choices as well.

Column 4 Perk: Historically, the elemental proc perks are always the best to use, especially for build crafting, so Hatchling seemed like the best choice here. But don’t turn away from Demolitionist, Golden Tricorn, or Target Lock. Those perks are also really good. Overall this gun looks like it would be great to fit into certain build types and can fit in about anywhere with the right perks.

Origin: No choice here. There is only one trait. A fun little passive benefit.

Masterwork: When it comes to Auto Rifles in PvE (and to PvP as well actually) both Stability and Range are great masterworks or frames to have. In PvE, there is no right choice at all, so don’t get upset if you get either one.

Mod: The Counterbalance Stock mod will help this weapon shoot much straighter than if you didn’t have it. You could flex out a damage spec mod in its place easily if you don’t mind the additional recoil.

Conclusion: The Perpetualis is one of our first Strand primary weapons and for what it is looks like a decent weapon. Adaptive frame Auto Rifles aren’t typically sought after as they are as their name suggest a jack of all trades and master of none, but this one deserves a shot.

PvP – Perpetualis God Roll

The following list presents Destiny 2 Perpetualis God Roll for PvP

BarrelArrowhead Brake, Hammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineAccurized Rounds
Perk 1Enhanced Elemental Capacitor
Perk 2Enhanced Eye of the Storm
Origin TraitNoble Deeds
MasterworkHandling
ModQuick Access Sling

Barrel: When it comes to Auto Rifles keeping your reticle on target can be more difficult than other weapons, especially on controller. Arrowhead break makes that Recoil much, much easier to control. If you are on PC, you may be able to control it a bit easier, so instead feel free to take Hammer-Forged Rifling to get that Range up higher.

Magazine: In PvP, its less about how many rounds you put down range, and more about how many of them hit your target. Accurized Rounds will give you a solid +10 to Range which will make you accuracy much better at when your opponents are further off.

Column 3 Perk: Elemental Capacitor is an awesome Perk for PvP especially if you are running Void or Arc. Killing Wind would also be amazing here. A fun combo may also be Hip-Fire Grip paired with Offhand Strike in column 4.

Column 4 Perk: Eye of the Storm remains one of the single best perks to pick for PvP. Granting you a buff that can help you edge out that win in a 1v1 gunfight always has its uses. A fun combo also can be created if you take Offhand Strike with Hip-Fire Grip in Column 3.

Origin: No choice here. There is only one trait. A fun little passive benefit.

Masterwork: While its true that Range and Stability both work for PvP masterworks, this is a god roll post, and Range definitely is better than Stability for PvP in almost all cases.

Mod: You can never go wrong with a Targeting Adjuster Mod in PvP. It always is a good choice.

Conclusion: The Auto Rifle PvP Meta has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still effective. Our god roll has potential to do some work, and the Hip-Fire/Offhand combo may end up beating it out. That’s one we are gonna have to test out. Make sure you check back for updates as the Season goes on.
