Welcome to our Destiny 2 Nation of Beast God Roll and How to Get Guide. The Nation of Beast is an Adaptive Frame Arc Hand Cannon that can be obtained as a drop from the Last Wish raid available with the Forsaken Expansion.
As of Season of the Deep, Nation of Beast can be crafted once its Resonant Pattern is unlocked. Hand Cannons hold a unique place in Destiny’s sandbox, being good at everything but not the best at anything. They are a favorite in PvP but tend to be outclassed in PvE.

How to get Nation of Beasts God Roll in Destiny 2
In order to get the Nation of Beast Hand Cannon, the player needs to do encounters in the Last Wish raid which is located in the Dreaming City. Nation of Beast can drop from any encounter or hidden chest inside of the Raid. Nation of Beast can also be crafted at the Enclave once the Deepsight Pattern has been completely unlocked.
In order to acquire the Deepsight Pattern of the Last Wish Weapons, players will need to go to the Clan Vendor, Suraya Hawthorne at the Tower and acquire the “O Deepsight Mine” quest. This quest guarantees a red border weapon on completion and only requires that every encounter in the raid be completed. This quest can be completed weekly and once completed the player can purchase an additional Deepsight Pattern the player has unlocked in collections. Deepsight Patterns can also sometimes drop with the weapons acquired during the raid itself or have it applied to them with a Deepsight Harmonizer.
PvE Nation of Beasts God Roll
Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Column 3 Trait | Dragonfly |
Column 4 Trait | Voltshot |
Origin Trait | Explosive Pact |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Minor Spec |
Barrel: Hand Cannons hurt for range, so really any barrel perk that adds to that is decent here. Smallbore also grants a little stability as well.
Magazine: Reload speed is very important on a primary weapon that can’t get a large magazine size. While you can opt to increase it with Appended or Tactical Mag, Flared Magwell helps generally better than an extra bullet or two.
Column 3 Trait: Dragonfly is the better perk to go with in this column for its offensive potential, but Eddy Current could work if built around it.
Column 4 Trait: There are two great options in this column: Explosive Payload and Voltshot. Either could be argued for, but Voltshot can be very powerful with an Arc build and just edges out Explosive Payload for our God Roll.
Origin Trait: No options here but Explosive Pact is actually a decent bonus trait. Use grenades often.
Masterwork: Again hand cannons need all the range they can get so the choice is easy.
Mods: Minor spec helps take care of rank and file combatants and is great for hand cannons due to their lesser ammo capacity.
Conclusion: Hand Cannons in PvE are typically not the best option unless they are one of the weapons used to take out champions in the seasonal mod. That being said this is one of the better options for hand cannons in general, and is the best choice for Arc hand cannons by far.
PvP Nation of Beasts God Roll
Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Column 3 Trait | Opening Shot |
Column 4 Trait | Kill Clip |
Origin Trait | Explosive Pact |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Targeting Adjuster |
Barrel: Bump up the range over everything. Hammer-Forged does this with no downsides.
Magazine: Another easy range boost.
Column 3 Trait: Opening Shot is one of the better perks for PvP in most situations and it is no different for this weapon. Keep Away and Perpetual Motion are also great options.
Column 4 Trait: Its hard to argue against Kill Clip in PvP, however with certain builds like Stasis Titan, Collective Action can be a great choice to allow for two tapping enemy guardians. Just note that is a very specific build and requires set up.
Origin Trait: No options here but Explosive Pact is actually a decent bonus trait. Use grenades often.
Masterwork: Again hand cannons need all the range they can get so the choice is easy.
Mods: In PvP, Targeting Adjuster is an easy choice especially on hand cannons.
Conclusion: Hand Cannons can be great in PvP. This one has the fun potential of the Collective Action build, but even if you don’t go that route it can get some decent perks. That being said there are better options for PvP hand cannons so set this one aside for PvE.
