How to Get Hood of the Weave in BG3? Explained
In order to get the Hood of the Weave in Baldur’s Gate 3 you’ll need to visit the Philgrave Mansion in the city during Act 3 and discover the mummy lord Mystic Carrion in the basement. The Mansion can be found to the southeast side of the city, down along the water. The nearest waypoint is fairly close by – if you’d already unlocked it, use the Heapside Strand waypoint to quickly get there.
As you walk by the front of the building you’ll hear some NPCs complain about the smell. You can’t enter from the front – you’ll have to go around the west side of the mansion and down some stairs. A successful Perception check from one of your party members will reveal a door in the stone wall. To get through this entrance you will need to pass a high Arcana check. If you don’t currently have a character in your party with this skill, you can simply use a hammer weapon to bludgeon down the wall.
Straight inside through another open doorway you will find the Mystic Carrion. Despite his evil appearance he won’t immediately be hostile and you can speak with him to pick up a quest (Find Mystic Carrion’s Servant) or to trade. One of the items he has available is the Hood of the Weave, which you can purchase for 133 gold.
How to Use the Hood of the Weave in BG3?
The best way to use the Hood of the Weave in Baldur’s Gate 3 is by equipping it to any spellcasting class such as Wizard or Sorcerer. Furthermore, even classes such as Druid, Bard, or Warlock could benefit from it, depending on the playstyle and build.
If, for some reason, you have no spellcasters in your party, then even a melee class could wear this to get the boost to Spell Save DC. However, this would be very unusual, and not considered best-in-slot.
