Throne and Liberty Butcher’s Canyon Dungeon Guide
The dungeon starts with three enemies. You can get the key for the lift by killing the Orc Key Administrator. Once you get the key, take the lift and go to the next area.
Once you reach the wooden bridge, you will notice some enemies across the bridge. Aggro them and bring them to the bridge to quickly end the fight by pushing them off the bridge. Be careful not to fall from the bridge during the fight.
Once you get past them, you will enter the first boss area.
First Boss – Orc Shadow Elder
The Orc Shadow Elder is the first mini-boss of Butcher’s Canyon Dungeon. Defeating the boss is not challenging, as he follows some basic fire attacks. But there is a complex mechanism you need to understand during the fight. The boss will summon Shapeshifters to accompany him, and they cast a spell to transform a player into an exploding sheep.
The sheep will explode once it hits a certain timer, which you should avoid. The sheep-transformed player needs to touch another player before the timer hits zero. It transfers the curse to the other player, and they transform into an exploding sheep, which resets the timer. Once you kill the shapeshifter, a blue zone emerges on the ground; approaching the zone removes the curse from the players.
Once you defeat the first boss, you will face several enemies along the path. Get rid of them using the bridge tactics, or you can choose to fight.
Second Boss – Orc Shadowmancer Trio
Following the path leads you to the second mini-boss, technically saying mini-bosses. Three Orc Shadowmancers tether around an altar and emit blue light. As long as they are attached together to the altar, they are invincible. So in order to defeat them, you need to separate them. Using powerful crowd control attacks will do the job. Once they are separated, then defeating them is not a big deal.
Once the second boss is defeated, follow along the path and battle some enemies to enter the final boss arena.
How to Defeat Duke Magna
Duke Magna, the final boss of Butcher’s Canyon, follows several phases.
Phase 1
His phase 1 will consist of the following attacks;
- Duke Magna performs a spin attack with the heavy Axe. Since it is a fury attack, players can block the attack with perfect timing.
- During the phase, the boss will summon Meteors from the sky to fall on the player’s head. Avoid these Meteors by moving or evading.
- The boss will stomp on the arena, which triggers a fire wave around the arena. It can be avoided by jumping at the right moment of the approaching wave.
Phase 2
There are four pillars located outside the arena. In Phase 2, Duke Magna pulls all the players to the center, which stuns one player and restricts the movement. Two of the four pillars turn red, and the other two turn blue after the pull. All the remaining players are set free. They should escape from the arena by jumping through areas with no fire and interacting with the two red pillars. After interacting with the red pillars, the player at the center becomes free, and then everyone must exit the arena before the explosion.
Once this phase is completed, Duke Magna enters initial phase 1 and then proceeds to phase 3.
Phase 3
In Phase 3, Duke Magna pulls all the players to the center. This time, the fire affects a larger part of the arena and reduces the escaping space. Two Shapeshifters will spawn outside the arena and cast a spell on one of the players to transform them into sheep.
The player transformed into a sheep can’t jump through the fire rings, so players have to follow the method that they used earlier in the dungeon. They have to transfer the curse from one player to another by contacting others. Once the sheep player gets outside the arena, they have to enter the blue zone after defeating the shapeshifter.
The process will keep on repeating till the boss gets defeated. Once you get the hang of these mechanics, then completing the Butcher’s Canyon Dungeon will be very easy.
