Baldur’s Gate 3 has no shortage of quests and activities for players to take part in. In fact, they can find new secrets and storylines in the game even so long after the title’s release. Among these, Finish The Masterwork is one of the stranger questlines you can tackle. The quest begins when you read a piece of paper on a barrel inside a broken-down house. You will then have to acquire a piece of Sussur Tree Bark and craft the masterwork weapon.
In this article, we will break down how you can get your hands on Sussur Tree Bark and complete this unique side quest in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find Sussur Tree Bark in Baldur’s Gate 3
In order to locate Sussur Tree Bark, you will have to first make your way to the Underdark. There are different ways you can reach the subterranean Underdark in the game. This includes using the Featherfall Spell to go down the Whispering Depths dungeon spider’s pit and using the elevator at the Zhentarim Hideout. It is important to remember that how you get to the Underdark does not affect the outcome of the quest.
Once you are in the Underdark, you need to make your way to the Sussur Tree. You can find the tree in the western half of the area, close to the Sussur Tree Waypoint. However, this area houses various Level 4 Hook Horror enemies, and they can be quite challenging to take down. It is recommended that you sneak up on the enemies, so you have a better chance of coming out on top.
After this, you need to navigate to the center of the Sussur Tree. You can do this by walking on the tree branches. On the south side of the tree, you can find the Sussur Tree Bark. The Tree Bark is highlighted by an orange outline. With that, you can harvest the Sussur Tree Bark and take it back to the Blighted Village to complete the Finish the Masterwork weapon quest.
