Dark and Darker is a fantasy PvPvE extraction game. In other words, you are thrown into a dungeon, where you have to collect loot and teleport out. However, you have to fight against both naturally generated enemies and real players the entire time. This creates a great opportunity for players to get into exciting combats in which they use swords and spells.
Among all the classes, only four of them can currently use spells. They are the Bard, Cleric, Warlock, and Wizard. Each spell is unique in how you activate it and what it does. Bard Spells in Dark and Darker

Bards use instruments to play tunes, which result in magical effects. Usually, you have to press certain keys to play specific notes to activate these spells.

Ballad of Courage | Grants 25 to movement speed for 30/60/10 seconds. The song does not stack on itself. |
Banshees Howl | Reduces all stats of nearby enemies by 1/2/3 for 20 seconds. Does not work on Boss or Subboss monsters. |
Beats of Alacrity | Grants 25 to movement speed for 30/60/10 seconds. Song does not stack on itself. |
Chaotic Discord | Excites nearby monsters to attack the nearest target except the performer. |
Chorale of Clarity | Restores the spell memory of all nearby allies for 8/16/24 seconds, 8 per second. |
Din of Darkness | Deals dark magical damage to all enemies in an area around the performer. The amount of damage per beat is based on the quality of the played music. |
Harmonic Shield | Grants a shield that lasts for 60/90/120 seconds and gives 50 armor rating and 50 magic resist to self and all nearby allies. |
Lament of Languor | Reduces the movement speed of all enemy targets by 20 in an AOE for 6 seconds. |
Peacemaking | All nearby players and monsters temporarily lose the will to fight when enchanted by the channeling section of the song. |
Piercing Shrill | Deals 15/20/25 physical damage to a target and causes the echo sound effect on the affected target for 3 seconds if the target is a player. |
Rousing Rhythms | Increases all stats of nearby allies by 1/2/3 for 30 seconds. |
Shriek of Weakness | Lowers Physical Power Bonus by 2/4/5 and Armor Rating by 30/45/60 for 18 seconds. |
Song of Shadow | Turns self and all nearby allies invisible for 15/25/35 seconds. Invisibility breaks upon movement. |
Song of Silence | Intercepts all enemy spells and prevents the caster from casting magic for 2/4/6 seconds. Does not work on boss or sub-boss monsters. |
Tranquility | Gradually restores the Recoverable Health of yourself and nearby allies based on your performance. Poor – 8 HP for 4 seconds. Good – 16 HP for 8 seconds. Perfect – 24 HP for 12 seconds. |
Unchained Harmony | Opens all nearby doors/containers, including locked ones. Does not work for doors that require a special key. |
Cleric Spells in Dark and Darker

The Cleric is a special class that mostly deals with healing and buffing the entire team. Their whole spell list consists of holy spells.

Bind | Binds the target for 0.75 seconds. |
Bless | Target gains +3 Strength, Agility, and Will attributes for 30 seconds. Casts to self if no target is found. |
Cleanse | Removes all harmful magic effects from the target. |
Divine Strike | Increases weapon damage by 10 for 20 seconds. |
Holy Light | Heals an ally for 30 HP or does 100 base magical damage to an undead target. |
Lesser Heal | Heals a target for 15 health. Casts to self if no target is found. |
Locusts Swarm | Concentrate for a certain period of time to summon a swarm of locusts in a specific area, dealing 2 damage per 1s to targets within the area. |
Protection | Creates a shield that blocks 20 physical damage for 20 seconds. |
Resurrection | Target an ally to resurrect them from the dead. The corpse must have a soul heart. |
Sanctuary | Concentrates on a specific area for a certain period of time, healing friendly beings within the area by 7 per second and dealing 14 spell damage to undead per second. |

Wizard Spells in Dark and Darker

The Wizard class mostly utilizes spells of various elements. This results in high versatility, as you can use spells according to your needs or situation.

Chain Lightning | Electrocutes the target, inflicts spell damage, and fires lightning that transfers to a being within 4 meters. It shocks up to 3 times. It does not transfer to a target it has already struck, and it may transfer to you if you are nearby. |
Fireball | Shoots a fireball that causes 30 direct damage to a target and 10 splash damage with a knockback effect to nearby targets. |
Haste | Target gains a 14% Action and Move Speed bonus for 8 seconds. Casts to self if no target is found. |
Ice Bolt | On hit, deals magic damage and reduces the target’s movement speed by -15% for 1 second. |
Ignite | Sets the target’s weapon on fire, dealing 5 additional magic damage and burning enemies when they are hit. |
Invisibility | Target becomes invisible and gains a 10% Move Speed bonus for 3 seconds. Casts to self if no target is found. |
Light Orb | Blows up spheres of floating light to brightly illuminate the surroundings. |
Lightning Strike | After 4 seconds, a bolt of lightning falls in the targeted area, dealing spell damage. |
Magic Missile | Fires up to 10 homing missiles that each deal 12 damage. Stops firing when you move. |
Slow | Slows the target’s movement speed by -40% for 2.5 seconds. |
Zap | If hit, it deals magic damage and burns the target for 1 second. |

Warlock

The Warlock is a fairly new addition to Dark and Darker. Additionally, he uses many of the spells that the Wizards use. However, he can cast the spells without using any grimoire or staff. The Warlock also gets a few new spells.

Curse of Pain | Instantly deals 10 magic damage to the target and curses them with Agony. Agony: Receive a total of 10 magic damage distributed over 8 seconds. |
Curse of Weaken | Weakens the target for 10 seconds. Weaken: Reduces base stats by 20%. |
Hellfire | Summons eternal hellfire and blasts it toward the aiming point. The hellfire does not dissipate when it reaches the target, burning them for 60 magic damage per second. |
Power of Sacrifice | Curses the target with Sacrifice, losing 3 health per second but increasing Strength by 15 over 12 seconds. |
