Should You Skip Any Solo Leveling Arc

Skipping any story arc when reading a manga, Manhwa, or light novel isn’t advised. Readers might miss an important development or find themselves without the context of the current events in the story. It’s somewhat okay to skip some filler anime episodes in some cases. But, considering Solo Leveling only has twelve episodes, there’s simply no need to skip any of the early arcs.

However, if you have finished the first season of the anime, you can jump straight to the Red Gate arc in the Manhwa. This is where Solo Leveling’s second season will pick up the narrative.

Which Are the Longest and Shortest Solo Leveling Arcs

In Solo Leveling, the longest arc is the final Academy arc. This arc is a setup for a new reality that Jinwoo has to live in after achieving what he wants. Also, this part of the story sets the stage for the sequel, which follows Jinwoo’s son’s journey.

The shortest arc for the first installment of this series would be the Reawakening arc. It’s remarkably short with only two Manhwa chapters, and made it into the anime as a part of episode 3.

Currently, the English light novel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is on its 17th arc, the Black Market arc. Though it seems to have reached a similar amount of content to the first Solo Leveling title, the sequel is far from over. The light novel is set to release its English 191st chapter on tapas.io on November 30th, 2024.

Conclusion

Solo Leveling earned its fame for its adventurous story. Jinwoo’s struggle as a low-level hunter made fans root for him, despite the unfortunate events he had to face. It’s a story that is filled with themes of growth and survival.

The sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok brings in a new protagonist and a new approach to the Solo Leveling themes. Instead of starting from a humble beginning like Jinwoo, his son, Sung Suho, was a prodigy. His struggles revolved around taming his natural gift and gaining total control of his talent.

The universe of this series is rapidly expanding with the popularity of the sequel. Furthermore, you can expect a second anime adaptation of the original title later in January 2025. It’s not too late to jump on the bandwagon. Especially, if you already know all the Solo Leveling arcs which will help in picking up the story.
