What is Fey Ancestry?
Fey Ancestry is a unique ability, and the Feywind is an effect it provides. Your characters with the Feywind effect receive a veil over their mind. Additionally, Fey Ancestry prevents from being put to sleep by potions, scrolls and spells.

Is Fay Ancestry useful in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Fay Ancestry is a practical effect that will give your character more chances to resist status effects. However, it’s not required or powerful enough to choose it over different unique abilities. So don’t feel like you must choose every time it to be powerful. While some classes are sometimes more powerful than others. Races and their bonuses don’t have that big of an impact. Consider matching your race to your class for the best results.
